The magical world

"Magnificent" George said

He couldn't believe what his eyes were looking at, how gloriously beautiful it looked. The whole place was a wonder and George couldn't understand how a place like this could exist.
A few hours ago he had walked into his grandpa's room to find his book he had misplaced earlier but instead of searching for the book he was distracted by the strangely glowing mirror in his grandpa's room. He knew his grandpa couldn't have left such an eye catching mirror out in the open in a house filled with children, he took a white sheet from the cupboard to cover the mirror but out of curiosity he stretched out his hand to touch it but instead of touching solid his hand went right through the mirror
"Huh"
And being a precocious child he went into the mirror and he was met by a blinding light, he blinked a couple times and when he could finally see what met his eyes was beyond him.

There were buildings as tall as the sky that were made of glass and strangly shaped inventions that carried people around to and fro while making strange sound that sounded like the rumbling of thunder,people were dressed in strange clothing that made it look like they were competing amongst theirselves, he had never seen clothing so colourful.people walked around with small boxes in their hands, some held it to their ears while talking to thin air, others held it in front of their faces smiling as if they were about to get a self portrait. George found this act very strange but it wasn't the least strangest thing he found about this place, The whole atmosphere felt different from the one back home.
Some of the houses had strange boxes that had people in them and how they fit in it was beyond George, some had animals while some had writings on them One of them read 2024 01 01. This magical world looked so surreal and George wondered what sort of magic they performed that made Everything so beautiful and easy, back home there were just destroyed houses and roads , evidence of the war that ended the year he was born, 1918 and now George was seven. George was so immersed in this world that he had found, he wondered if he could take some of the magic back home to make his beautiful just like this magical world.
