In this part of the world where I found myself, my beautiful country Nigeria, Saturdays is mostly set aside for parties, especially the western part of my country, there is always something to celebrate on weekends and as such, there is always a particular fabric sold to the family of the celebrant, friends and the general public, most times it is the fabric that will be used to know who is who I mean how close you are to the celebrant. That is why I'm most event, you see different group of people with different different color of outfit to grace a particular occasion.

My cousins were not left out as they are friends to the bride to be and there is this particular fabric sold to the bride's friends to make the outfit of there choice to grace the wedding.

First, I will be sharing with you the one I made for my younger cousin before I share the other one, follow my blog as I bring to you my beautiful creativity.

Let's get started with the cutting and sewing process

First, I have with me 3yards of lace fabric, 2 trouser length of satin material by 45" 1yard of lining, warden for the breast pad and zipper that will be used to make this outfit.

As you all know, to make an outfit using slash and spread method, you will need a brown paper to draft out your pattern which I did, the lower part of the skirt was drafted on a brown paper using my cousin's bodice measurement to draft out a basic long skirt pattern. For the slash and spread, I went up on the knee line by 3" and rule an horizontal line to the other end, I marked out the mid point and rule downward and slash open to the other side where it will be sewn to the back part. It was placed on the lace fabric and spread to my desired opening putting in mind the amount of fabric I have.

The front part was cut on fold on the and was later placed on the satin material to cut out same shape

At the back pattern, the both sides were slash and spread to give it fullness at the back with a tail like shape.

Using my brown paper, I drafted out an off shoulder princess dart bustier pattern for the front and back upper bodice, then it was placed on the lace fabric to cut out same shape as the pattern as well as on the satin and lining.

It was after sewing the front and back separately that I cut out the neckline in other to get a perfect neckline. The front and back upper bodice were neatly sewn with padded at the bust area to make it firm and was set aside.

I proceeded to the sewing of the lower part of the dress with the satin as lining.

The upper and lower bodice were sewn together neatly and ironed.

For the sleeves, a made 360° double flare with the lace and satin material which was turned inside out with lining for both sleeves.

The sleeves were sewn to the off shoulder gown and I have this beautiful gown.

Just to add more beauty to the outfit, I made a detachable bow at the back with wide knot just to bring out the beauty of the outfit.

Your teaching is always really easy to understand.
The back of the dress is really pretty and I love the lace in general.
Should I leave my measurements here?
