Cooking Up an Autumn Sunday Dinner Storm | Sunday Dashout

avatar

Greetings ReggaeJahmers,
Remembering the days when weekend meals were set. Sunday was rice and peas with chicken, salad, carrot juice or some other root beverage. Saturday was soup. Sunday morning breakfast was the biggest breakfast of the week and every member of the household had some input in what was at the table especially on Sunday.
Haven't made one of these posts in a while. But I can assure you that the good Lord continues to provide and we having been eating on a daily basis.

This past Sunday the cooking monster got me and I started cooking up a hurricane.
We found this foxy autumn centerpiece and decided it was fitting for the table in this season. Do you agree?

The Menu:
The menu for last sunday included rice with a dash of red beans😂, jerk chicken, vegetables, garnished with orange 🍊 and cucumber 🥒 slices and a failed carrot muffin with some tea.

I wasn't 100% happy with how everything turned out but I felt great making the effort to do something I hadn't done in a while for my family.
My wife made some muffins the very next day which dwarfted the ones displayed here. Yum . Sorry we devoured all the evidence before any pictures were taken so you'll just have to take my word for it that they were delicious.

I guess practice makes improvement. So I'll make another attempt to redeem myself in the not too distant future.

Until next time.
Stay connected, stay active.
May God bless you and your family this weekend and always.

The pictures used in this post were taken with my android phone.

I'll have to remember that because when I cook, I mostly focus on one dish and that's it, so I'll have to practice and prepare two dishes and after mastering that three 🙈.

Oh and hope you'll stay in that cooking zone, because I enjoy seeing the creations here on Hive! 💪

Occasionally I feel like cooking but when I decide to I sometimes find that I don't have all the ingredients but can't be bothered to go out and get them so I improvise ending up with less than the ideal flavours.

I also forget some ingredients, but the biggest one for me is my time management. I often put it off or my estimated prep-/starting time is off, which makes me put it off again and so forth.

Earlier this week, I did better though. Because a friend would come by to do some repair work and I learned from my mom to cook for the people who work for you, especially if they're there for longer periods of time. So after having breakfast, I immediately pulled the meat from the freezer and started on what could already be prepped. So if that isn't progress I don't know what is 😅.
