Holiday Treasures from Brittany

avatar

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well ! Like last summer, I want to share with you my little findings from this corner of Brittany. I'm always trying to strike a balance between materialism and spirituality, and for me these objects almost speak for themselves. It also brings back some good memories, as I used to share more articles in the OCD community.

I always like to find special objects that have a soul of their own. But let's start with this presentation of the different items I've unearthed at the beginning of the month !

DSC_0099 copy.jpg

One of the things that makes me appreciate these moments is taking these presentation images, as well as those of the individual objects.

DSC_0033 copy.jpg

Here's a rosemary cutting that I collected last time on a walk and which I hope to be able to put back in our countryside garden.

DSC_0061 copy.jpg

I was given an insect swatter. What's special about this one is that it's made of metal wire and it's not supposed to kill insects, but rather stun them. I haven't tested it yet, but I think it works quite well.

DSC_0066 copy.jpg

A small thimble found at a flea market. I've checked that it's not silver, but classic metal.

DSC_0065 copy.jpg

Here, one of my favorite items ! A large stoneware mug glazed with traditional Breton motifs. I found it in a little flea market where we went completely in the rain.

I like to drink a lot of tea and this is just the thing !

DSC_0031 copy.jpg

A good bottle of old rum for the campaign. So far I've managed to resist opening it, but who knows what will happen in the next few days ^^ !

DSC_0063 copy.jpg

Of course, I also had to find some vegetable seeds and other plants to sow in our garden in the future. Tomatoes, rhubarb, poppies, parsnips and turnips.

DSC_0092 copy.jpg

I've also found this old brass bell, with a lovely patina, which I'm thinking of installing at the entrance to our gate. I don't know if anyone here remembers, but I'm a bell collector, so if you have any from your country, don't hesitate to show them to me in exchange for HIVE ;)

DSC_0393 copy.jpg

The last item I didn't include in the first image is this beautiful, large push-button coffee maker that I gave to my father-in-law, and I think he's a coffee lover, so he's particularly pleased !

That's about it for this summer's selection. I hope you enjoyed this article and a few other items, and thank you for visiting.

Have a great day and see you soon,

<3

<3

You and I are similar in the treasure hunting department when it comes to flea markets. It's such an amazing feeling when you find things like this, I really like that mug, they are hand painted aren't they?

I didn't know that was a bug swatter at first, it looked like a little broom. I could use one of those in summer when the mosquitoes become a nuisance. Great finds and I like the way you laid them out in the pics. I can't wait to see what I find at the next market hunt, it's always something I look forward to immensely.

Flea markets are a paradise for us ! To be honest, at some point years ago, it was almost like an addiction and now, I'm super happy and proud if I don't buy anything... because at that time, it was needed that I choose something. Now, only crack fo some particular things I know I need and won't be disappointed afterwards :)

Yeah, this pattern seems completely hand-painted, I so happy with that one, it can almost contains 0,5 liter haha ^^

Thank you @emma-h2, I hope to see when you'll share your future findings !
Have a good weekend 😘

A half liter cup? Yes please! That's freaking awesome.

I totally know what you mean, I have to limit myself to a certain amount of cash and absolutely nothing past that or I end up going home with the freaking kitchen sink 🤣

The weekend has been fantastic so far, I hope yours has too. For sure I will definitely share my treasures and I might even be hunting this week so I have my fingers crossed that I'll find something awesome.

Yeah, full green sencha tee !

The good thing with second hand shop and antiques is that they are mainly taking cash, so I just have the sum I allow me to spend in my wallet ^^

Ahaa, I hope you have find some good ones, don't hesitate to mention me if you decide to share something about 😉

Take good care @emma-h2

Thanks @anttn I will do.

That's a really good way to make sure you don't end up forking out wads of cash that you didn't really intend to originally. Market larking for the win 😁

These are really pretty treasures. I'm trying to decide if I like the mug more or the bell. And I understand that little balance between materialism and spirituality. Happy Friday to you @anttn🌺

Please you downvote my post some days ago. I want to know why so that I can correct. Thank you

Hey @mfontom, in fact it was because I followed a downvote trail... Nothing personal, but I recently left it after seeing that my downvote "power" was used.

Thant's super kind of you @mnurhiver, I will not forget to tell you if I come, and tell me too if coming in Europe 😉 !

Yes, friend. Thanks @anttn . It would be easier for Europeans to go to Indonesia than for Indonesians to go to Europe. If Indonesians go to Europe they have to prepare a lot of money because the currency is low. It's easy for Europeans to go to Indonesia because they have a large currency and they can buy everything in Indonesia. 😁😁
