El desierto de Atacama, se extiende por el norte de Chile, ocupando 4 regiones de este pais: Arica, Tarapaca, Antofagasta y Atacama, con una superficie de aproximadamente 105.000 km2 delimitando con el oceano pacifico y la coordillera de los andes, esta impresionante extencion de desierto tiene una amplia diversidad de paisajes, y les mostrare un poco aquellos que logre conocer, desde lagunas saladas y dulces en el medio del desierto, hasta lo mas alto del altiplano a 4200 msnm.

Dia 1

• Laguna Cejar, Piedra, ojos del Salar y laguna Tebinquinche

Mi primer dia de recorrido sobre la inmesidad del desierto de Atacama fue en las lagunas Cejar, Piedra, los ojos del Salar ( que por cierto es agua dulce) y la laguna de Tebinquinche esta es la primera parada del dia, en donde disfrutamos de paisajes fascinantes debido al contraste de desierto con vegetacion y lagunas en donde te puedes duchar, como el caso de la laguna Piedra, cuyo contenido de sal hace que flotemos sin necesidad de nadar, de verdad es un efecto alucinante. Luego caminamos por senderos de la Laguna Tebinquinche en donde logramos ver algunas aves, esta laguna tiene un efecto espejo en epocas de invierno, y finalmente vimos los ojos del Salar que son dos micro lagunas de agua dulce que brotan en el medio del desierto.

Day 1

• Cejar Lagoon, Piedra, eyes of the Salar and Tebinquinche lagoon

My first day of travel over the immensity of the Atacama desert was in the Cejar, Piedra lagoons, the eyes of the Salar (which by the way is fresh water) and the Tebinquinche lagoon, this is the first stop of the day, where we enjoy landscapes Fascinating due to the contrast of desert with vegetation and lagoons where you can take a shower, as in the case of the Piedra lagoon, whose salt content makes us float without swimming, it really is an amazing effect. Then we walked along the trails of Laguna Tebinquinche where we managed to see some birds, this lagoon has a mirror effect in winter, and finally we saw the eyes of the Salar, which are two freshwater micro-lagoons that spring up in the middle of the desert.

Segunda parada Laguna Miscanti y Miñiques

Nosotros quisimios aprovechar el dia y seguir conociendo por lo que nos fuimos al altiplano, en donde nos conseguiriamos estas dos impactantes lagunas, siendo parte de los sectores de reservas de flamencos, queda aproximadamente a 4120 msnm lo cual fue genial para irnos adaptanto a la altura y al siguiente dia conocer los Geiser del Tatio que pondre en el siguiente post. Algo que nos encanto de este lugar fue la increible tranquilidad que emitia ademas de la inmesidad de sus aguas azul oscuro que parecian de mentiras, luego el paisaje nos regalo un increible atardecer y la salida temprana de la luna llena.

Second stop Laguna Miscanti and Miñiques

We wanted to take advantage of the day and continue learning, so we went to the highlands, where we would get these two impressive lagoons, being part of the flamingo reserve sectors, it is approximately 4120 meters above sea level, which was great to go adapting to the height and the next day to know the Tatio Geysers that I will put in the next post. Something that we loved about this place was the incredible tranquility that it emitted in addition to the immensity of its dark blue waters that seemed untrue, then the landscape gave us an incredible sunset and the early rise of the full moon.
