I headed down to Alexandra Village Food Centre to grab a quick bite and purchase some traditional crystal buns (shui jing pau) to bring home.

我前往亚历山大村熟食中心吃点东西，顺便买些传统的的水晶包带回家。

I arrived just before 1 PM and noticed two interesting stalls side-by-side: Dover Road Kai Kee Wanton Noodle and Tiong Bahru Lien Fa Shui Jing Pau.

我在下午1点前到达，注意到两个很有意思的摊位并排在一起：杜佛路佳记云吞面和中峇鲁联发水晶包。

I couldn't resist ordering a plate of wanton noodles first to fill my stomach. The wanton noodle came with a decent serving of char siew, some wantons, and green vegetables, served with a small bowl of soup. The noodles were springy and went well with the sauce. Standard local hawker food that always hits the spot!

我忍不住先点了一盘云吞面来填饱肚子。云吞面配有分量适中的叉烧、几颗云吞和青菜，还附送了一小碗汤。面条挺有弹性的，拌着酱汁吃味道很不错。标准的小贩中心本地风味，非常合胃口！

While waiting and eating, I spotted a hen and its tiny chick wandering around the tables looking for food. It felt so much like the old-school kampung days, seeing them roam freely in a modern food centre!

在等待和用餐的时候，我发现一只母鸡带着它的小鸡在桌子周围走来走去寻找食物。看到它们在现代化的熟食中心里自由穿梭，真的很有以前甘榜时期的感觉！

After lunch, it was time to buy the crystal buns from Tiong Bahru Lien Fa Shui Jing Pau. I bought a bagful of sweet and savory ones to take home. They hand-make them fresh right at the stall, and they are always so popular.

吃完午餐后，是时候去中峇鲁联发水晶包买水晶包了。我买了一大袋甜的和咸的口味带回家。它们都是在摊位上手工现做的，一直以来都很受欢迎。

On my way back, I walked past a very charming, old-school rattan furniture shop. It's rare to see such traditional craft shops still operating in Singapore these days.

在回去的路上，我经过了一家非常有魅力、老式风格的藤制家具店。

The sight of those woven chairs stacked outside really brings back childhood memories.

在新加坡，现在很少能看到这种传统的工艺店还在营业了。看到外面堆放着的那些编织藤椅，真的勾起了不少童年的回忆。😎
