Appreciating the views over the River in Prague, away from the Tourists

(Edited)

Here are a few photos taken from the Štefanik Bridge (Štefánikův most) in Prague. This is a suspension bridge which was originally opened with the name Franz Joseph Bridge, back in 1868. It's still very used these days, over half and a century later.

From here, you have a good view of the Vltava river, with the city center in the horizon. It's also a good spot to see the interesting building of the Hydroelectric Power Plant (Vodní elektrárna Štvanice), which is located in the Štvanice Island. This Power Station has been feeding the city of Prague since 1914.

This bridge is a very cool spot for boat lovers, as they move towards the middle of the river, after circling around the Štvanice Island, and pass by right below you...

After crossing the bridge, there are a few steps which you can climb. From there, you can look at bridge from above and appreciate the city across the river. This is a very calm spot, near a big park, where you can relax and take a break from all the commotion of the big city. 😊

Following the path up the stairs will lead you to a simple and calm green area, with lots of shadow and some benches. A very cool spot to unwind on a hot sunny day. 😎

I hope you liked these shots. Prague is a very cool city to visit, even though there's a vast amount of tourists, which can feel a little boring at times. But if you want to get away from the crowds, just take a walk to an area like this, a bit further away from the city centre where you won't see any tourists at all. 🤫

Great scenery! I didn't realize Prague was a busy tourist destination. I can see why though. Beautiful!

Oh, yes it is. Prague has 1.3 Million inhabitants and 7 Million foreigners visit it per year. 😎

If you were never there, it's a nice spot to add to your bucket list.

Thanks for your visit. Here's a little bit of !DERANGED !BEER for you.

Yes, it's a wonderful city. I was there on a very hot week and because of that, I had no appetite for big dishes, so I usually ate quick snacks. I'd like to go there again and try the local food.

Thank you very much for your visit and comment.

Here's a little bit of !DERANGED !BEER for you.
