Atheists are under attack in many places. If they were Christians, their voices would be heard. If they were Jews, their voices would be heard. If they were Muslims, their voices would be heard. But they are atheists, and not many seem to be listening. Let’s make it difficult for them to ignore us. We have built a global community, and now we are tearing down geographic, cultural and language barriers so we can find each other and support each other. In the last decade, we have built the largest atheist community in the world. Now we’re doing the same in other languages. With your help, we have started Atheist Republic in Persian and Arabic. As we grow, we can dedicate more time, staff and resources to start doing the same in Spanish, Portuguese, Malay, Bengali, Urdu, Hindi and other languages. We are providing community, support, informative content and amplifying the voices of those who need protection especially in countries where people feel isolated simply for their lack of belief. Lol. She took that photo in front of the Ka'abah. I think it's the language barrier that saved her. If she had written "Atheist Republic" on that paper in Arabic. Her case would have been a sorry case.😂😂.

You guys are awesome! Never give up. I feel a bit privileged at times because I can openly be an atheist where I live. When I tell people I'm an atheist, the worst that can happen is a few condescending remark thrown at me. It's sad that in some countries people have no choice but to be religious or face abuse or death. Everyone should have the right to leave religion if they choose so.

While I am a Christian, I fully support people having the freedom to choose their religion or leave it completely and not be persecuted for their choice. So you have my respect for the fact that you are fighting for what you believe in, regardless of the potential consequences, that is brave in my book. Just thought I'd leave this comment to let you know I support you in your fight.

Nice idea, I´m new in Steemit and finding this is great; I´m not an atheist properly speaking, I´m Agnostic as a matter of fact, many people could think that is the same thing, but there are some differences in the two concepts; both deny the existence of God as main idea, but atheist has a strong feeling about that statement, agnostics on the other side don´t believe in God because they haven´t seen any realistic proof of it´s existence, but we aren´t closed to any idea of the God concept.
But anyway, we suffer the same attacks from the religious people, they judge you like you were comitting a crime just because we think different, it´s not fair, and prove me that the wisedom and intelligence is in our side.
I dont know if I could write here in spanish to, as a Venezuelan citicen, spanish will ease my capability to express my ideas, but I can do it enoughly well in english I think

Religion is the Cloak for the mentally feeble and spineless vagabonds, that are into their most Gross existence. The moment someone touches the religious scriptures, without any through in mind for they pickup that scripture. very few benevolent know the secrets of the Gods. The secret is "You are not a Book". Your collection of karma puts all of us at places where we are now. The most important for human being is to respect everyone and everything around him/her, because the soul asked for those things and universe delivered it with great respect.

Instead of gaining the attention of outside world, you all need to so full of light that none can ever ignore you. Noise or shout can attract other but not for long. Light instead is the ultimate source that no-on can ever ignore. The nameless, about whom we know nothing is neither a God nor an evil. That nameless is just Pure light, our source of existence.

Definitely not, we must not waste our energy in mocking other, this will only create more ignorance and hate. Do not get distracted by people views about you, what they think is none of our business. My comment was to see if community "atheistrepublic" is active or not. Religious debates is all about "Who is great ??, I never get into those kind of things. I am here to learn and gain experience from others.

Read it all over again, this time read slowly. You seem to be in too much of rush to reply. Respect and lack of respect is for those who are bother about it, every human being is beyond this. Absence of desire will lead to beautiful life. We all must develop the ability to see everyone and everything connected. Religions are born everyday, it is the host for someone who don't see inside, someone for whom its holy scripture without any knowledge for what it was written. We all are busy in admiration of creation, but the benevolent will always admire the creator.

I think it depends on which God you are referring to, and which words attributed to him (or her, it) you are referring to.

People do a lot of silly things, including terrorist acts because they are acting as if their version of God exists.

By any means my intention was not to hurt your feelings, I am old man, not very old but old enough to test before I start following someone. I wanted to check, how you react to the comment I made, it was just collection of words threw at you, Remove the first word Atheist and replace it with Religion Name, then the rest of the world would get mad at me. To make you believe, I was just testing, let me apologies to you, because those were not the kind words.

Many a times in my life I met people claiming to be Atheist and secretly God fearing and idol worshiping. I always wondered why these duality in mental principles??? Our daily videos cover religious news but we also analyze the news (live), and decide whether to support or reject the public consensus while discussing it as a group.

I haven't checked who is specifically in the spotlight but I am just one person. @atheistrepublic has a worldwide group of volunteers and some permanent staff members too, so I am sure many of our other members have an opinion about that.
