SteemWorld ~ KeyChain is now being supported!

I'm happy to announce that SteemWorld now supports KeyChain for being able to make use of our private keys in a more secure and more comfortable way.

KeyChain is an open source browser extension, which signs and/or broadcasts transactions internally, so that even SteemWorld does not have access to any in there stored profiles or private keys. It can be used for multiple accounts at the same time and the private keys are being stored only locally (in the browser's local plugin storage) with great AES encryption in conjunction with a user defined password. Even if someone would steal your laptop, your private keys would be safe, because they can only be accessed by knowing your password.

KeyChain is still under development and is currently only available for Chromium based browsers. Of course, other browsers like Firefox will also be supported in the coming weeks/months. I've tested it with the awesome Brave Browser and it works perfectly.

While testing all available features on SteemWorld I came across two missing API calls (claim_account, create_claimed_account), which still need to be added. If you are using KeyChain and you want to claim accounts or create claimed accounts, you can temporarily disable the usage of KeyChain in Settings -> Security. If you should encounter any other issues while using KeyChain on SteemWorld, just report them in a comment in one of my posts.

Thank you the specific reference to the Brave browser. As I have written "in here" a number of times, I think it represents a vitally important project we should all be supporting.

Yes, but without giving external apps any private key privileges. That is one of the reasons, why I was never using SteemConnect and I probably will never do. KeyChain is way more secure and really easy to setup.

SteemWorld looks great, but for which functions is KeyChain needed?
Only for creating a new account or any other?

SteemWorld detects automatically if you installed KeyChain and you can use all features on the site without it too. It is being used for all signing and broadcasting operations like redeeming rewards, voting, making transfers, powering up/down, changing withdraw routes, etc.

This is great news as it makes it more attractive to use. I still have not tried it as I haven’t seen any tutorial to walk through it so will be on the lookout soon!

@steemchiller, you continue to amaze me dude. I know you're one of the many who are really suffering through the bad times here. I had been secretly hoping you'd add Keychain support, but I didn't expect it. Not so quickly.

How do you do it? How do you keep your motivation going through the rough times? You are an insipiration to me.

Ich wünsche dir auch frohe Weihnachten @double-u! Und vielen Dank für deine Spende ;) Habe viel zu wenig geschlafen die letzten Tage und muss mich jetzt auch schon wieder auf den Weg zum anderen Teil meiner Familie machen...

Hoffentlich lässt sich die Sonne hier im Norden mal wieder blicken, denn gesehen habe ich sie seit Monaten nicht. Diese kalte Jahreszeit ist gar nichts für mich und ich wünschte mir, ich wäre jetzt irgendwo in einem warmen Land. Naja, vielleicht werde ich den Schritt ins Ausland im nächsten Jahr endlich wagen. Wenn die Sonne hier nicht zu mir kommt, muss ich wohl in ihre Richtung gehen :)

I found a bug in the steemworld.
refer to the photo attached
i made ONE transfer of 0.032 steem from my smartsteem account, the steemworld showed the trx twice...
i reloaded the page 2 times and still the result the same.
THW STEEMIT WALLET IS SHOWING OONE TRX BUT YOUR WEBSITE IS SHOWING 2 TRX OF THE SAME VALUE

PLEASE FIX THIS ISSUE

Please refresh the page again. Does it still happen? When I switch to your account it looks all fine. Did you use any filters on the left side or did you switch to an other day before?

Hi - sorry for my late reply due to the low RC...

I did all you proposed, still same defect... But, I shifted to fire fox moziala browser, then problem vanished , i returned to google chrome browser, still defect there, i tried my friends mobiles, no defect, i returned back to google browser , i cleaned memory, i cleaned all temp. files, even passwords... then refresh all ram, desktop, and google cleaning coockies... then it returned to work normal on google....???

sorry I was panicking , but we are trying to help our friend samer and we do not want any defects in his account...

Thank you for the details! The problem seems to happen sometimes on some browsers. I tried to find anything that could cause the issue, but I didn't find it yet.

If it should happen again, can you please try to use the filters on the left (switch to an other day for example) and tell me if that fixes the displayed operations?
