My ArtVenture: Watercolor painting “Old Edinburgh”

Hello dear Steemians,

Couple of years ago when we moved to our house, there were some old prints with monochrome photographs of old Edinburgh in sepia touch. Of course we immediately liked them and decorated our empty walls. Looking at those photographs there are couple of things that I love:

First, in the past there were nice little shops, with beautiful decorations and they all were made from real wood, ground floors did not have cheap kiosks. Nowadays we see colourful cheap decoration made of plastic that they decorated 200 year old stone house.

The second reason is in old time there were not much traffic on streets, only horse-drawn carriages ore old-timer. Old cars are my favourite, beautiful colours and shapes. That everything was on those pictures.

I decided to do watercolour painting. Here it is the result

I've never been in Edinburgh. So many places, so little time to see them. Arghhhhh. In my next life, I want to be a professional traveler but I doubt that will ever become a real profession. 😁

Great painting, as always!

I can imagine, there are many places that I also would love to visit, but unfortunately much depends on our financial condition in the first instance. But that is a reason to put it in to do basket :)

I prefer your painting to the photo as it is warmer. I love visiting Edinburgh. Is that where you live? 😊

I thought it will be more interesting to do it in lighter colors especially seeing gray sky most of the days in Autumn it is nice to have some sunshine. We live just opposite Edinburgh, we can see from our coast to their. My little town called Kirkcaldy. It is about 30 min to Edinburgh with car or train :)
