Some progress in building the Steem community

avatar

I have not checked on the stats in a few weeks. Looking at the numbers compiled by @arcange I see that we are currently gaining minnows and dolphins. We are still about 100 below the peak minnows I have seen, but the dolphins keep growing. Their swelling numbers do reduce the number of bigger minnows and we need a constant flow of people reaching that status. We have lost a couple of orcas.

Stats

I have seen some big accounts say they are powering down due to disillusionment with the state of Steem, i.e. they are not about to raid the rewards pool as before. There is bound to be some 'churn'. People have waited years for their investment in Steem to pay off and some will seek other opportunities. Some will stick around as they still believe in this platform.

When I started this account back in March I had hoped we could reach 10,000 minnows this year, but that is looking unlikely. It may be we reach the 2500 dolphin mark first. I would still say that smaller accounts should consider buying some Steem if they can. I do not think the price will stay this low indefinitely. SMTs and communities are coming next year and may drive demand. Meanwhile we will do our best to support small accounts with quality content. You do have to work for those rewards.

Steem on!

It must be hard for the redfish to be a minnow nowadays especially when they're not joining any communities. Many new redfish are accounts to play games belongs to the whales, orcas, dolphins or minnows

Mine is worst 😂😂 I couldn't reach 20 sp because I lost the active key and it's a lot of works to be done with a poor old smartphone.

I have a few accounts, including @tenkminnows, but I am not looking to profit from them. They are helping others with some delegation from me. I think it is still possible for small accounts to grow. You have to find people who share your interests. Make it social.

I have 3 accounts to play steemmonsters.. but I don't really post a lot lately😊 because one account is too hard to handle and it tooks me 20 months to reach 1k SP

I think i'll do the same like you if I have enough to delegate to the account and helping others too.

Well I'm hopeful that I'll be a dolphin by the end of the year, so that will be one down on the minnow front, but one up on the dolphin front. It's a trend in the positive side, however.
Good too see an update from you. I was wondering if the drive was still on.

Minnows upgrading is fine, but I think a few have powered down. We need to keep making more. It ought to be easier with the low Steem price. I would like to see thousands more active Steemians
