More witness votes needed to protect Steem

There is still a standoff concerning the future of Steem. The Steemit puppet accounts occupy the lower 11 places of the top 20. If Steemit had 17 they could force through a damaging hardfork. That would be likely to reduce the power down time to days to help out the exchanges who previously backed them. They could also act to disenfranchise anyone who stood against them, but that would be a death knell for Steem.

Some of the top community witnesses have a reasonable buffer, but @gtg and @themarkymark are vulnerable of Justin acquires a few million more Steem. That may be a risk as the exchanges power down. I know a lot of Steemians are buying what they can get to power up.

@steempress could do with more votes to get back into the top 20. It may only take thousands of SP to achieve this, so every vote really does count.

Getting the critical majority is a bigger ask as some big accounts are hedging bets by supporting both sides to prevent this. It may take more negotiation to find a way forward.

You can set me or someone else you trust as a voting proxy if you prefer. The important thing is that you use your votes.

I have already voted for @themarkymark @steempress. Just voted for @gtg. Is there a list of witnesses somewhere who are on the same side as these three?

Basically anyone not running version, 0.22.5 is on our side, but you can check if they are blogging about it.

I don't think it is going to be possible to gain much ground one way or the other with the Korean exchanges and account standing in the middle. They are doing what they can to keep things as peaceful and even keel as possible.
