Wednesday walk - THROUGH THE SUNNY COASTAL MEADOWS
Summer again ! ...
... this was my loud thought that continued echoing for quite some time underneath the bone ceiling in my skull ...
(Enlargeable)
... as I was scrolling through a pile of last summer's photographs ...
... like through a sunny room, somewhere in the dark labyrinthine archives of my autumnal mind ...
... I discovered ...
(Enlargeable)
... that from an old folder ...
... to the sunny place lost in the recent past ...
... is actually, a short distance ...
... I was teleported ... quickly and efficiently like from the spaceship Enterprise ...
... and so ...
... right now ...
... I'm walking through the summer day ...
... surrounded by a multitude ...
... of colorful summer creatures ...
... ladybugs are mating ...
... and this crab spider female ...
... is guarding the nest ...
... many colorful flowers ...
... are scattered around ...
... and insects ...
... are enjoying ...
... the abundance of their delicious sugary products ...
... this is ...
... actually ...
... a walk through the candy store ...
... on the open ...
... and near the sea ...
... some of the most interesting memories of that walk ...
(Enlargeable)
... involve these interesting formations ... you can find a few different types of these little houses ... some, like this one are made of dry straws and small leaves of different shapes and sizes ...
... occasionally authors of this architecture add an empty snail shell to their work ...
... some of these construction are made only with dry straws, and in a very ordinate way, straws are precisely cut into the ideal size and then intertwined also precisely, it looks like a human construction, really ...
... some others are covered with a layer of silk for additional firmness and protection ... all these shelters are made by moth larvae of a few different species ...
(Enlargeable)
... on this photograph you can take a look at the mysterious architect that is usually well hidden inside the house made of straws ...
... and now ... let's continue through the tall grass …
... dragonflies are resting up, on the ears of grass ... surveying the hunting area ...
... and these very common and numerous beetles are mating ...
... sometimes the mating of this species gets very crowded ...
... almost every ear of grass has some small animal on it ... small beetle of the curculionidae family ...
... a tiny and shiny green beetle ... I can't tell you much more about this species ...
... a trio of very common ... and very lovely ... Zygaena filipendulae moths ...
... a spider ... above his silky construction ...
... another spider ...
... this one inside the shelter, behind the veil of silk ... and on the following GIF ...
... you can see another interesting spider situation ... a spider with the prey, a small green bug ... which is nothing strange ... but this spider is covered and surrounded by a flock of small flies ... and this is a pretty peculiar little detail, at least for me ... never saw a scene like this ...
... here you can take a look at a small camouflaged butterfly ...
... and here is a bug that looks like some kind of seed ... or something like that ...
... another bug species ...
... with great camouflage ...
... reminds me on the stick insect ... this is a young, undeveloped exemplar ...
... earwig ...
... on the blooming ear of grass ...
... Syntomis phegea moth ready to take a flight ... and a minuscule beetle passing by ...
... a minuscule fly ...
... brightly colored ladybug wandering around ...
... another one of the same species ... resting on the green ...
... a different ... much smaller ladybug species ...
... one of the small moths that are hiding here in the grass ...
... another small moth species ...
... a big colorful catterpillar ...
(Enlargeable)
... and a large swallow tail butterfly ... in the vast field of tall dried out grass ...
... although the grass ... I mean, various species of grass ... is the main ingredient of these meadows ...
... there are many others ...
... beautiful and interesting plants ...
... like these orchids ...
... that you can see on these summer walks ...
... and this ...
... strictly vegan ...
... and absolutely botanical ...
... part of the post ...
... is dedicated to them ...
... on this one ... some sort of tistle ... the crab spider is waiting for the pray ...
... and here ...
... on the long thorns ...
... and among the lovely yellow flowers ...
... of another one of these coastal plant species ...
... a bunch of small bugs has just hatched from the cluster of eggs ....
... minuscule jumping spider ... wandering around the same plant ...
... and ... also on this plant ... the adult bug ... of another species ...
... and here ... is another look at the thistle flower ...
... with the bumble bee feeding on it ...
... and then ...
... some more bugs ...
... different bugs ... different species ...
... then another minuscule fly ...
... and another mating ... small beetles ... curculinoidae family again ... I think I read somewhere that this is the most varied and numerous group of Coleoptera ... a lot of species there ...
... a green crab spider ...
... a very hairy one ...
... has caught a bee ...
... a small spider of a very different type ... has built a web between the stems of grass ...
... a similar spider ... maybe even the bigger version of the same species ... with the catch ...
... a ladybug ...
... on some juicy green plant ... a brown crab spider has caught a longhorn beetle ...
... on another green leaf ... of another nearby plant ... another earwig ... if you remember the first earwig in the post ... and if you compare them ... you'll see that this is a different species ... which is kinda cool :) more diversity - more cool ... something like that ...
... this caterpillar is feeding on some closed bud of a pretty large flower ...
... and now ... I'll tell you a few words about the size of this post ...
... it has to be long ...
... to convey the biodiversity ... and the vastness of the meadows ...
... when I walk through these fields in summer ...
... I walk for hours ...
... and ...
... is kind of natural ...
... for a long walk ...
... to result in a long scroll ...
... when transfered on Steemit ...
... so ...
... let's continue ... :D ...
... with another beetle ...
... of the curculinidae family ...
... ready to fly away ... and then ... abruptly ... THE END ... WARNING! THIS WALK IS OVER! :D
As always in these walks on Steemit, all the GIFs and photographs are my work.
... and as a bonus track ...
... this lovely GIF ... which maybe some of you will see moving ... and for some others this will be a still image, I dont know ... because now, near the end of the post, I'm experiencing again the upload problems that I had in the last few days ... the usual ''Error:objectObject'' thing that makes me .... nervous ... very nervous ... I hate that Error signal ....
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :)

Thanks :)
Gotta love the bagworm and that yellow crab spider.
:) Those worms are designing some really cool bags.
I bet if you isolated one near some colorful tiny beads it would craft something trippy.

Wow. Just wow. The details are incredible (again). That alien-like crab spider, that, well... multi-mating :D ...you have got it all in there. Fascinating work.
Es ist sehr beeindruckend, wie lebendig die Natur ist.
Leider geht man zu oft an diesen Einzigartigkeiten vorbei.
Danke für deinen schönen Bericht.
