Wisdom beats power!

Happy Friday and today I am showing you something unbelievable!

They say that doves are peaceful and they use dove symbols to explain stories of love.
But when a Ringneck dove named "Dave" wants to eat some peanuts, he has to put his foot down at times when others are trying to eat all of the nuts. Here we have a situation where Marian (my wife), put some peanuts down for the squirrels and Dave the dove decided to also get a share of the nuts.
But How? The squirrel would attack the dove you would think. Well Dave has a plan!
Let's have a look!

IMG_3045.JPG

Here you can see the peanuts and the squirrel having a feast!
You can also see Dave eyeing the nuts!

IMG_3046.JPG

So Dave saunters slowly towards the nuts and the squirrel is watching him.

IMG_3047.JPG

Check this clever plan! Dave the dove opens his wings to show the squirrel that he is bigger than the squirrel!

IMG_3048.JPG

Doesn't work right away and Dave prepares to have another go!

IMG_3054.JPG

This time round Dave even puts on a threatening and angry face Lol.

IMG_3138.JPG

And finally it worked! Dave looked at me and I could see him whispering "How's that"!

Some of you may never have seen how a squirrel buries nuts.
Well in the video below you will see how sneaky this little guy is!

I sweep the palm tree fruits that drop into the front garden every day and at the end of the week, I put the heap into our compost section. Squirry had 2 peanuts here in the video, so she hides the one and eats the other one Lol. No other squirrel would think of searching for nuts in the heap. Very clever and cute isn't she?

Now to return to the dove story. If it really came to a fight the squirrel would easily win, as he is faster and he has teeth.
So the dove faced an almost impossible situation. Yet the dove conquered the showdown with wisdom.
As humans we face many struggles in our lives, some that seem impossible to overcome, yet each of us has the dove's wisdom inside of us.
Do me a favor and look back over your life to see how many times you have "somehow" overcome your own worst fears. Most of the things that you were anxious about never even materialized.

"Float like a butterfly and sting like a bee" Muhamad Ali (World champion boxer)

Make your own motto; "Float like a Papillon and sting like a wasp"

Take today as a lesson from Dave the dove. There is nothing that you cannot conquer if you used your head and the given wisdom that you have. No need to put yourself down with negative thoughts like ; "I cannot do this" or "I cannot do that". Rather start saying to yourself; "I can".
Once you start thinking positively you will attract positivity either in people or in the necessary mediums that you need to get the temporary mountain (problem) out of your way. Remember that there are always opportunities in problems.
Think about it!

Note! The photos and words in this post are 100% my own. The photos are unedited and only cropped for uploading purposes!

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

So true as I watched my own daughters change when they started to become mothers. I like your motto "Float like a ghost and sting like a mother"
All blessings to you my fierce and brave friend.
Glad that you have my back.

Will have to say foxy as a squirrel, the little ring-neck must have really wanted a treat to resort to showing her feathers off. Thanks for another entertaining piece of brilliance in photography with story telling Stephen.

I have now done a new thing for them lady Joan, I break the peanuts open with them watching me and they swoop down to clean it up.
As I opened the door this morning there were 3 squirrels sitting right at the door waiting for me hahaha.
Luckily we get the big bags of peanuts cheap and the palm tree is also a great source of food for them.
Glad that you liked the story.
Blessings!

Hahaha, it was really unexpected and if you don't have nuts it is a problem.
Fortunately we have learned to always have nuts in our pockets.
Glad that you found it touching my friend!

They will start eating out of your hand in time, just have to keep the boundary of staying outdoors, sure Troy will keep them in check LOL...

Troy has already had a few scraps with the squirrels inside the house my friend, but they are quick learners and now don't enter the house.
But they are also clever and now sit on the window sills knowing that the glass protects them.
The doves are also becoming friendlier and they don't scatter anymore when I go outside. With time they will also settle down.
Blessings!

Pigeons (or maybe it is a rock dove) aren't particularly intimidating birds. That squirrel doesn't even seem to care that the pigeon is trying to scare it. Maybe he is just a little annoyed by its presence and wing flapping? Squirrels aren't particularly heavy but I'm sure they weigh more than a pigeon.

I want to go and look for some birds today, but the weather isn't so nice out.

That one is a ring-neck dove my friend and he must have annoyed the squirrel, as I have also seen the squirrels chasing geese away from their nuts. But the doves insistence impressed me.
Hope that you get some birds.
Blessings!

I watched a Woodpecker walk up behind a squirrel and poke him in the butt to get to the seeds in the basket! The interaction between them was fascinating to see. Good job capturing the interaction between these two!

The squirrel looks so cute and you have a very nice vid there. And she likes to eat nuts and must be nice to have a cute squirrel to visit my garden and we will enjoy it as spectators of this very lovable animal and it's one favorites as well. And when the squirrel will enjoy it's stay in our garden, well we shouldn't make a lot of noise for we might scare the squirrel away... The squirrel belongs in the rabbit family I guess. But they are not domesticated animals and they love the freedom there in the wilderness too.

A great post that pigeon stood up for himself

and yes I agree with your message, some people focus to much of their time on how difficult their perceived problems are, rather than stepping back and looking for solutions
