Is It Legal?

So it's the end of day 2 here, in supposedly sunny South Africa, not that I would know because we've been inside all this time. Thought I'd give a quick update of the stats and how things are going. The country currently has 1187 infections of COVID-19 and only one fatality, it was initially two but after medical review it turned out to have been due to something else. Also to add insult to injury, no the power has not also gone off just yet, touch wood. Although I would probably see that coming sometime soon, because it was an inevitable and unstoppable as per the word from government, well that is until literally a few days before talks of national shutdown, then just somehow no more issue. Yeah something seems super fishy right there, any way so no, currently no power problems. Unfortunately two of the very few under sea cables that connects us the the global internet have broken. So the entire county now has massive lag on to of the corona outbreak.

Another thing is, the government has declared a state of disaster and assumed some very anti-liberty stances on it citizens, all for the greater good and the best interest of the majority of course. But does the potential well being of the many, suspend the inalienable rights of the individual? The government has suspended and basically placed the entire country under house arrest, because people could spread the virus if they are in close proximity. This is completely understandable, but they have gone to the point where they are just randomly arresting people for being alone in public, like folks walking in the park, jogging or walking their dogs. But it's fine to go to the only place open which is the grocery store, and if anyone is going to get corona it's probably going to be there, not while you alone taking a walking with your partner. But this is after all the government, but what's your thoughts on this kind of enforcement?
