If the translation is accurate, he's pretty open about it being about conforming to the state. Not even trying to hide that this is where they're heading any more. From this, I'm guessing there would be no option for a distance education as the reason for attendance isn't just about their specific form of education, but about making sure they are in a controlled environment that the state approves of.

I see two main options for you moving forward. You could move to another country and hope the option to homeschool remains long enough there for your children to get through the school system. Alternatively, you can still teach your children outside of school hours, to help them learn to think for themselves and problem solve in ways the school system doesn't.

Option number one sounds more preferable in the long run. For now they are still in nursery school which is mostly just games & sport, so I'm okay to let it go. But once it is time for Esteban to begin real school it will be time for us to leave. Which is sooner than I expected, but that's just what it is. I am calmer now so I feel again that the Universe is prodding me for a good reason ;)

As I see each country falling along this line, I'm grateful that my daughters have pretty much finished their homeschooling journey. Unfortunately, it doesn't bode well for them if they want to home educate their children in the future.

I feel like the school system would definitely have failed my youngest, unless I'd been doing extra with her at home and I wonder, now, if my eldest wouldn't have become disillusioned and lost interest. If she's anything like her cousin, she may have even gotten in with the wrong crowds as well.

Glad you've regained your calm. I know you'll find the path for your family. 💚

I can't help thinking of a discussion you had with a mutual friend (at least a year ago) when he warned you about France being a nWO govt and suggested you join him in Poland. I think you had too much already invested in staying where you are (emotionally) and so you did not give it the open-minded thought you should have.

If it were me, while they are still accepting European migrants, I would go to Hungary - they are the only EU country with a govt determined to protect their citizens from the globs. If you are to make such a decision, you will need to make it as early as possible. You do not want to make such a decision after the govt makes a law not allowing parents to take their children out of the country (an example).
