Belgian Jupiler League Week 25 Saturday Previews
Limited loss yesterday as I kept my stakes small on AA Gent after seeing how the Asian market pointed toward Anderlecht despite all their injuries. They were right (as usual) as the visitors took a more than deserved draw against AA Gent who had somewhat of an off day clearly missing Kums & Depoitre. 4 more matches to take a look at today...
Charleroi vs Zulte-Waregem
Zulte-Waregem played a good match against Club Brugge in the cup during the mid-week but still lost out by the smallest margin in the end. Big question today is how Zulte-Waregem will be handling fatigue. It's not the first time a mid-table team underperforms after a mid-week match. Charleroi has not been at their best after the winter break and has not taken a win yet this year. The visitors will have Vossen back in offense while Beharino, Seck & Pletinckx are injured. One bet stands out for me which is the Zulte-Waregem Team Total over. Charleroi has not taken a goal against at home since October last year while Zulte-Waregem has scored in all their away matches this year. The visitors can use a win as they are still in the running for Playoff 1 and I do expect them to move forward. They do have scoring options in the offense with Vossen, Larin, Dompé & Bruno and broke their bad streak with a blowout 5-0 win last week against a poor Waasland. My main bet on this match is Zulte-Waregem Team Total Over 1 @ 2.70. I would take this one extra in BTC if I could but it's not available anywhere. I will keep an eye out live for the visitors hoping they don't suffer from fatigue.
Cercle Brugge vs KV Mechelen
It's the same story with Cercle week after week, they have a team with potential which is for sure not the weakest in the league but they always end up biting the dust mostly due to their inexperience. They are now 9 points behind on the team before them with 18 points still to be earned which seems mission impossible. I was willing to back them last week with low stakes and high outright odds. I'm no longer willing to back them now though. The stress of relegation might be gone now making them play more freely but I'm not speculating on this. KV Mechelen has been in somewhat of a decline but tend to be a better away team. Especially here they should be able to play their favorite counter-style play. Basically this is a match between 2 teams who absolutely need to win but tend to have a very hard time scoring goals. My lean right now is on KV Mechelen. The draw is not really a valid option so I would have to go with higher odds. I will be keeping an eye on a potential late over bet. No Pre-Game Bets
Sint-Truiden vs Eupen
This is already an end of season match between teams who are safe and have nothing left to play for. This could end in both an extremely boring match or a crazy wild encounter. Odds are set closer to the Under scenario. I took a small pre-game gamble on Under 9 Corners @ 2.68 Stvv has an average of 8.3 Ck in the last 7 matches while for Eupen it's 9.4. Good chance for there to be an early study round and I'm anticipating it will be possible to put this one safe at some point live. No pre-Game Bets
Moeskroen vs Oostende
Moeskroen is safe while Oostende could use at least a point knowing they will have to play Cercle in the last match of the season making their lead of 10 points only 7. Oostende played a good match at home last week against Stvv winning deserved with 1-0. scoring still seems to be their weak point especially away where they only scored 7 goals. I don't expect this to turn out in a wide open encounter with plenty of goals since both don't score easy and a draw might not be a bad results. I took a small bet on Under 2.75 @ 1.81 and also took a little bit on the Under 9.5 Corners @ 1.934
