The BookFest 2019 in St. Petersburg
I haven't bought a paper books in years. But I'm a little sorry for the feeling that appeared when I managed to find a rare book in a bookstore. Waiting for the evening, when it will be possible to open pages smelling of printing ink. Anticipation of the miracle of meeting the new world. So, of course, I went to the book festival. Not to buy books, but just wander between the rows of books, watch and remember.
The festival was held in the Mikhailovsky arena. The other name of the building is the Winter Stadium. The whole hall, 160 meters long and 40 meters wide, was filled with counters of different publishing houses, in total more than two hundred publishing houses came to the festival. It was difficult to leave a small space for meetings with writers, performances and a playground. A lot of people came and nobody was bored.
