Sour Hour Beers!

Looking at the beers I am reviewing this week you could be forgiven for thinking that the end times are truly upon us.

Two sour beers, the second of which somehow manages to mix raspberry and coffee!?! Coffee, yes, can be exceptionally lovely in a beer but with Raspberry?

Ewwwgh. I can already feel a disturbance deep down in my brown toboggan.

But no amount of tobogganing will make this tosh easier. I shall just have to level up and get my mouth on.

Here goes!

The first horror charmer mixes strawberry with vanilla. It seems wrong to be calling this thing a beer.

Somehow, this week, I feel like someone is having a laugh at my expense.

Roly Poly, a famous British dessert, essentially a big sponge jam roll.

Remind me what kind of tasting am I doing again?

Oh yes, Beer. So they say. Well, let us see if it at least pours like one.

20190831_144214.jpg

HA! That was entirely unexpected, the initial pour was like an explosion in a spunk factory. Look at that head?!

Madness. Take two...

20190831_144426.jpg

That's a little better. It is actually quite a bonnie looking wee beer, as older ladies and meesterboom's might tend to say in Scotland. A very fetching hazy gold with a frothy bouncing snowy white mane.

I don't feel quite so nervous.

Sour as a Hollywood wife after a year of marriage!

It is quite nice though. The kind of thing you would appreciate on a Sunny day, maybe not to have more than one of but refreshing and a bit zingy like a fizzy white wine.

I'm happy with that, a resounding 7.5 booms!!

So the good one is out of the way. Now the Darth Maul of sour beers awaits me.

k461506-picsay_20190810193418322_20190824125701330_20190831123146252.jpg

It does seem as if some Brewing collaborations are done more because they can and not because they should.

Much like the Good Lady struggles with my testicles. I struggle with the concept of Rasberry paired with Coffee.

But, you never know.

So enough snarf and let's get it poured.

20190831_145201.jpg

It is a fine ruby-going-on-pink coloured thing and it doesn't have any of the frothing sea that the last one did on the pour.

I must say, this sun does make the beers look fabulous.

Maybe things will work out alright?

Hoaaargh?! Yak?! That is sour beyond belief and the flavour to help carry it off isn't there. My saliva glands have gone into a weird spasm like the time I mistakenly ordered a whole pig's stomach in a Chinese Restaurant and had to eat it so as not to look like a silly Gwailou.

I did end up looking like a tit. But that is a tale for another day. :OD

At least that was meat. What is this muck?!

Ughft. A terrible 2/10 booms... I can't even bear to drink it! To the bin!!

Oh my. What a strange week.

Next week I am back on the real beer wagon. Stuff these odd creatures that purport to be beer!

Have a good weekend everyone.

Cheers!

Raspberry and coffee? Are you sure that's a beer and not some kind of voodoo magic drink?

I never thought of that, the cans are giant so they are bloody challenging, I did share the first with the missus right enough!!!

Hmm...well I had my doubts when I found out they were both 4.2%ers lol. I mean...is that even really beer??? But, it had to be done...good work on squeezing out those tears! I felt kinda bad for ya lol

Maybe the Bear Man needs a stern talking to? Well, next week will be better by default ;-)

Considering the beers I have had, they were a tad on the weak side. Perhaps I should have got the children involved!! :0D

Yeah that's what I was thinking...small beers for the small ones. I guess that's how it used to be when they thought water was bad for you lol

Hehe, actually that is funny because we went to a castle lately and they talked about that and the little lady ever since had been desperate to drink small beer!!

Oh!! The horror!!! Raspberry and coffee? That is a total insult to the coffee. And the Beer. And the Raspberries.

Who thought of this and why aren't they being punished?

You deserve an extra tip for swallowing the drivel.

Hehehe! They should be bloody punished. I am appalled at such a thing passing itself off as beer!!

Next time you get a roughie, seeing you are off on monday, dont pour it out, take it back and make him drink it, then worn him that you will do the same with every shit beer he sells you in the future.
Your drains will love you for it, remember, they have to put up with your cast offs now

I’m curious as to how you managed to accidentally order an entire pig stomach 🤣

I didn’t even know entire pig stomachs were things that were done though it doesn’t surprise me especially in Scotland where I’m pretty sure a lot of the food originated as a dare

The second one was at least a nice colour, shame it wasn’t to your liking 🙃

It was sliced up and marinated. If I choose my eyes I could almost enjoy it. It was like something from an HR Geiger painting. Oh, makes me feel ill thinking about it!!

The second did have a nice colour. That was about it!

Hahahaha you make me laugh - and then just taking another sip to make sure it is as bad as you thought.... I can think the first one is nice.

The first one really grew on me as well but I couldn't have more than one! Hehe, you gotta have them other sips to make sure!

Watched the videos this morning, having a coffee. Apparently coffee and raspberries don't mix well. 😄 An old woman her vinegar...!? That cannot be good.

Sour and beer, did not think that kind of combination could work. Yet the first one made it real. Like drinking from a tit of what!?

Great outdoors weather I see, ideal to enjoy some fresh sour beer.

Have a great sunday!

It pissed down with rain all day and then magically in the evening the sun came out and it was lovely!

Coffee and Raspberry is a crime against humanity itself. I don't know what I was thinking when I bought it. I always thing, what if???

Have a great Sunday yourself dude!!!

Thanks mate! May it be a sunny one!

And if you never try, you never know, sometimes things might not make sense at first glance. But you might come across a real angel piss kind of brew, one to enjoy more of.

You know, like:
"...To discover whole new beers and brewing combinations. To boldy drink what no man has drunk before. These are the voyages of the beersaturday by Meesterboom!..." 😁 (That might sound a wee bit familiar to you.)

On y va!

It's very true. If we don't try we don't get!!! :0)
