Low Light Toy Photography
My son (one of them, anyway) had a birthday last week. We had a bit of a celebration. Not a big celebration and, honestly, it wasn't the best birthday, all things considered, but we had a good time.
Over the weekend I finally got the opportunity to go to the comic store, and birthday son went with me. I'm actually quite glad; going there was something he very often enjoyed doing, but had stopped for a number of months while working through some health problems. It was nice to see him interested in engaging in activities he enjoys again. Anyway, while we were there, we noticed a figure of The Incredible Hulk. This happens to have combined two of his favourite things: figurines, and The Hulk. It wasn't terribly expensive, so I bought it for him for his birthday. I think it might have made me happier than it made him, though I did tell him that I wanted to take a picture of it.
This picture. Right here.
I realised how much I also missed doing some things that I like to do, such as taking photographs, which I also haven't done in awhile. I really enjoy lighttent photography and have done these in the past, always with fun results.
I have a black acrylic square that I put the items onto with a black background and a single lightsource. I then tighten up the aperture good and small and take a 30 second exposure. It's like lightpainting, but without the actual painting aspect.
Of course I went to get more toys.
And Dolores. Poor Dolores. Such a sad Dolores. With a gun.

First of all, happy belated birthday to your son!
Awesome photos! The Incredible Hulk has been one of my favorite characters for more decades than I care to admit! Who played your favorite Bruce Banner character? I still remember watching Bill Bixby play the part when I was a kid. Didn't realize he died so young, at 59 years old, from prostate cancer @wwwiebe
Thank you very much!
I really liked Bill Bixby's Banner. He brought a realism and desperation to the character that I've missed ever since.
Thanks for stopping by!
