In this post I invite you to take a tour with me through the images I captured. Although the days were somewhat cloudy, the sun also accompanied us at times.
I went with a friend on an organized tour that included round-trip land and sea transportation. We don't spend a lot of money because we stay in a tent and we also bring our food.
Upon reaching the city of Maracay, the bus took the road to El Limón to cross the road through the cool cloud forest of the Henri Pittier National Park, which leads to the town of Ocumare de la Costa. At around 11:30 in the morning we were there and we headed to La Boca, where the boats are taken. We did some last minute shopping and then the whole group embarked to leave for our destination, the beautiful cove of La Ciénaga.
The trip is not very long, about 20 minutes, and the sea was calm, so we didn't get wet during the tour nor did the boat jump due to the effect of the waves.
The beaches of Aragua state, central coast of the country, have the characteristic of being guarded by mountains of lush vegetation, which adds a wild beauty to the landscape.

Suddenly we spotted a detour and the boats turned towards it, we were entering La Ciénaga. I had visited this place for the first time several years ago and I really liked it, so I was eager to see if it would maintain the beauty and placidity that I remembered.
We arrived, got off the boats and loaded our backpacks towards one of the houses that has a roofed place. There we took out what we were going to need to spend the day on the beach and we left everything in shelter since we could only set up the tents after 6:00 in the afternoon when the people who come to spend a full day here have already left and there is free space for camping.
We wasted no time and everyone went to take advantage of their piece of sea, we tried to be away from each other to be without a mask and be able to enjoy freely.
Here you can see many birds, fish, mangroves and marine aquatic flora, being a place that is only accessible by sea since from the mountain it is more difficult, nature has been well maintained or so it seems.
After this brief exploration, we dedicated ourselves to enjoying the beach taking advantage of the fact that the sun came out a little again. There is no swell in La Ciénaga, for this reason they call it "the pool" and its waters are shallow and with a very pleasant, warm temperature.
Then we prepared our tuna sandwiches with vegetables and dressings that we had brought, we had soft drinks and sangria that my friend brought. Here they sell food and drinks but they are very expensive, so we opted to bring, most of the group did the same.
Before dark we set up our tents and put our things there, many of us continued to bathe until night fell little by little, we already had wrinkled skin hahaha ... then we were lucky to see the beauty of the colors in the sky.
The next day we got up early, we picked up the tent and our things, we left them in shelter in the place we were assigned and went for a walk to the other end of where we were staying to bathe on that side as well. We were able to see more of the houses built here and we ran into some little dogs that were defending their territory hahaha but they only barked at strangers, they were actually very tame.
We ate some fruits, bread and cookies and we reached a wooden pier and there we got into the water, in this area there are many stones near the shore and it is a bit difficult to walk barefoot.
We were there until 11:30 in the morning, then we went back to where our things were to change our clothes and wait for the boats to return to the town of Ocumare de la Costa.
Beautiful Ciénaga, visit it if you have the opportunity, it is one of the many beach paradises that Venezuela has.

Amazing place. Really happy for you that you got to spend some nice peaceful time in there :) So much needed in these tough times with so many restrictions and limitations...
Thank you! I really enjoyed it too much! At first I was a little afraid to take off my mask, but then I didn't even remember it, since we weren't crowded on the beach, we felt that "freedom" :D
