[ESP / ENG] Dando clases de música en Pandemia😷🎶 | Giving music lessons at Pandemic

Hola a toda la comunidad hive espero que se encuentren super bien❤️. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que ha sido mi experiencia en cuanto a la enseñanza musical durante la pandemia, ya que en mi rutina diaria antes del confinamiento solía trabajar todo el tiempo con niños, jóvenes y adultos de manera unicamente presencial.

Hello to all the hive community, I hope you are doing great. Today I want to share with you what has been my experience with music teaching during the pandemic, since in my daily routine before the confinement I used to work all the time with children, youth and adults in a face-to-face way.

Realmente ha sido difícil adaptarnos todos a esta situación sin embargo, hemos tenido que hacer un cambio de manera repentina y absoluta para lograr continuar realizando nuestra labor individual. En mi caso por ejemplo soy instructora de Violín a tiempo completo por tanto, me ha tocado idear la manera mas facil de impartir mis clases virtualmente utilizando diversos programas, plataformas o aplicaciones que me permitan de cierta manera seguir cumpliendo mi objetivo como profesora.

It has really been difficult to adapt to this situation, however, we have had to make a sudden and absolute change in order to continue doing our individual work. In my case, for example, I am a full time violin instructor, so I have had to find the easiest way to teach my classes virtually using different programs, platforms or applications that allow me to continue fulfilling my goal as a teacher.

Lo primero que se me ocurrió fue abrir un grupo de Whatsapp donde incluí a todos mis alumnos, posteriormente empecé a enviarles contenido digital en formato de audios, textos, documentos e incluso videos para que lograran adaptarse a la nueva realidad. Cabe destacar que aunque la educación presencial es de suma importancia, siento que el mundo avanzó velozmente en tecnología desde que se suscito este gran problema, obligándonos de cierta manera a utilizar estas increíbles plataformas que quizá antes no eran tan necesarias en nuestra labor.

The first thing that occurred to me was to open a Whatsapp group where I included all my students, then I started sending them digital content in the form of audios, texts, documents and even videos so that they could adapt to the new reality. It should be noted that although face-to-face education is of utmost importance, I feel that the world has advanced rapidly in technology since this great problem arose, forcing us in a certain way to use these incredible platforms that perhaps before were not so necessary in our work.

Por supuesto en este nuevo método de aprendizaje virtual se empezaron a suscitar algunos inconvenientes entendibles por parte de los alumnos ya que para lograr una comunicación efectiva al momento de una clase virtual sabemos que se necesita buen internet, buena señal y por supuesto electricidad, por tanto algunos no podían cumplir eficazmente las actividades ya que no contaban con alguno de los requerimientos mencionados. En forma general nos hemos ido acostumbrando a este nuevo método de aprendizaje sin embargo siento que hay muchísimas propuestas que podemos ir empleando poco a poco para hacer de esto algo cotidiano y quizá mas adelante potenciarlo con clases presenciales.

Of course in this new method of virtual learning some understandable inconveniences began to arise on the part of the students since to achieve effective communication at the time of a virtual class we know that you need good internet, good signal and of course electricity, so some could not effectively meet the activities because they did not have any of the above requirements. In general we have been getting used to this new method of learning, however I feel that there are many proposals that we can use little by little to make this something daily and perhaps later enhance it with face-to-face classes.

Entre otras herramientas que he podido utilizar además de Whatsapp es la aplicación Zoom, ideal para encuentros virtuales en tiempo real via videollamada, Band Lab ideal para grabaciones tipo estudio con gran calidad y diversos opciones de efectos musicales y por último la plataforma Drive que me permite tener una nube de información donde puedo compartir enlaces con documentos pesados. En la actualidad pienso reformar y emigrar hacia otras plataformas virtuales para continuar con mi enseñanza musical sin embargo, solo queda seguir realizando nuestra labor a pesar de los inconvenientes y además animar a los estudiantes para que sigan encaminados en la formación musical.

Among other tools that I have been able to use besides Whatsapp is the Zoom application, ideal for virtual meetings in real time via video call, Band Lab ideal for studio type recordings with high quality and various options of musical effects and finally the Drive platform that allows me to have a cloud of information where I can share links to heavy documents. I am currently thinking of reforming and migrating to other virtual platforms to continue with my music teaching, however, it only remains to continue doing our work despite the inconveniences and also encourage students to continue on the path of musical education.

Algo de suma importancia en la elaboración de las clases virtuales es que debemos contar obligatoriamente con un equipo tecnológico al menos de media gama ya que para poder utilizar las diversas herramientas digitales debemos contar un teléfono, tablet o computadora que ejecuten dichos programas sin ningún tipo de problemas. Además nuestros alumnos también deben contar con alguno de estos equipos para poder recibir la información y poder cumplir con todas las asignaciones. Aunado a esto, en este caso como instructor o profesor se debe contar con paciencia y tolerancia hacia los alumnos ya que al igual como sucede en las clases presenciales puede presentarse muchos inconvenientes al momento de entregar las actividades correspondientes.

Something of utmost importance in the development of virtual classes is that we must necessarily have a technological equipment at least mid-range because in order to use the various digital tools we must have a phone, tablet or computer that run such programs without any problems. In addition, our students must also have some of this equipment to be able to receive the information and to be able to fulfill all the assignments. In addition to this, in this case as an instructor or teacher you must have patience and tolerance towards the students since, as it happens in face-to-face classes, there may be many inconveniences at the time of delivering the corresponding activities.

Finalmente solo queda seguir tratando de cumplir nuestra labor individual como profesionales para seguir impartiendo conocimiento a las personas y continuar de igual manera documentandonos para ofrecer herramientas mas fáciles de comprender por parte de los alumnos.

Finally, it only remains to continue trying to fulfill our individual work as professionals to continue imparting knowledge to people and to continue documenting ourselves in order to offer tools that are easier for students to understand.
