Por Una Cabeza...

How can one shared post bring inspiration for another one? Easily, for sure, as no time passed from that action that I read one funny thing and voila, a new post is coming. A humble contribution to the community to have a bit of laughter, though I don't consider myself as a very talented person to bring any humor to the scene. Victor Borge was definitely one of those who could make laugh the audience and his tool was the same instrument I play... However, the only funny thing I can provide is my clumsiness and situations I find myself involved in. Situations in that you have to think quickly, save that can be saved and continue as if nothing had happened. Almost.

I remember my piano teacher was always telling me: During a performance, even if a fly comes to your nose, don't stop playing. You have to continue, no matter what happens in the audience or the scene. How nice advice, I would take it seriously, and it should be like this... but in real life, we face different challenges in the moment of playing in front of others.

In one of those moments when you play a gig with your violinist friend, in a super luxurious hotel-wellness clinic. When you play in the gigantic balcony of that place with a fantastic view towards the bay and mountains, with the breeze that everyone enjoys in a hot summer evening. Just not you and your music partner, as the music scores played from flew away with that wind. That happened to us, in one of the gigs, so what we have done is just simply make a mashup and continue to play a tune we know by heart and came first to our mind. This is how the song Por una cabeza finished as Summertime by Gershwin.

According to some smiles I saw, I realized others noticed the mix of those tunes, but anyway, let us pretend it was a bonus song. Here comes the song Por una cabeza, this time played until the end without changing the tune in the middle of it.

P.S. I attached now the sheet music well, so even with wind it would stay :)

Do you have some funny moments that happened to you while playing in a concert or a gig? Or you witnessed something similar in a concert, theatre, art exhibition...? Let us know, maybe it is more fun than the situation I found myself in while playing.

Oh, that can be funny too, depends between who you are caught 🤣

Now when you mention overcapacity, it is now pretty impossible, but hopefully those days will come again :D

Thanks for your answer ^_^ and have a great day you too ✨✨

How are going the things with the restrictions in your country?
Are there some more activities planned for the summer?

I have no idea @mipiano, the number of covid cases in my country is still quite high, how many moments have passed. no concerts, no vestments or anything, all done online. it's very boring you know.
but however I'm grateful that I can still be creative on this platform. ^_^
And what about your country? it seems that your activities have started to return to normal huh!! I hope everything will be fine :)

Yes, seems that some activities are getting back to more normal here... but not everything.

however I'm grateful that I can still be creative on this platform. ^_^

That is good. I am happy you could recognize the great things here, be creative, have fun, meet people. Cool, indeed ^_^

🤣🤣
I know it was not funny for you at that moment but now it is, so I will quote you in English so others can read this as well :

Once it was playing in front of a very demanding audience and an African bee came and landed between my eyes right where my nose begins and stung me. I felt something very hot running down my forehead and I started to tear. Many would think I was excited but I was actually screaming in pain. Still, I finished playing my song and singing; coming off the stage, my head was swollen and it looked like a caricature.

Oh, it must have been very painful and uncomfortable, but your attitude was very professional!! 👍 And the audience got that bonus thinking you were touched by the music, perfect :D

Hey, sparkling girl, ✨ how great to see you 😍

Don't stop playing!! This is indeed very important. I have a new experience from yesterday, had a concert and we had some slips hahaha that turned out not to bother at all the whole atmosphere. I would like to say it now, but I want to write it in one of my next posts :)
Thank you sparkling mae for your visit 😍🤗
