my journey to the Alphabet Land (day D)

This time I assorted more 'feel good' stuff starting from letter 'D' for the next round of the Alphabet hunt challenge by @barbara-orenya.

D — Dinosaur

IMG_9789w.jpg
Here's a running joke from the publishing industry. Someone calls in to a magazine editorial office to enquire:
— Do you have a photograph of a dinosaur? (probably, with intention to illustrate an article).
— No, we don’t have such a photograph,— was the answer.
— How it could be so, why dont you have a photo of a dinosaur!! Evrywhere I am calling, and nobody could provide me such a simple service!! — the client was indignant.
So... I have a photo of a dinosaur!!!! Luckily, I captured this graffiti last summer at the streets of St.Petersburg. Sadly, those things are ephemera — dont last for long.

D — Donuts

donuts_8417.jpg
This was shot at the local Auchan mall which I am pretty much in love with. This picture also illustrate the word 'Hope' to me, so I may use it later if I will be out of stock.. will see.

D — Darbuka Drum

drum_1065.JPG
This one also illustrates the word 'daughter'. Double shot! I am not totally sure, but maybe this drum's name is 'Darbuka' -- in such a case, I have three names covered here
:)

D — Dolls

dolls_1670.jpg
Captured this at the display of a souvenir store in the center of St.Petersburg - basically for some nice cat-art. Puss-in-the-boots, The Dracula Cat, etc.

D — Drowning

drawning_5508.JPG
Real drowning isnt a positive thing, but you can see, it is not for real, my friend was just fooling around in this huge weed jungle. I enjoyed this picture so much that I wanted to share it anyway -- letter D looked appropriate!

D — Dancers

IMG_3286w.jpg
Ok, those ladies present some dance being dressed in a cool Russian traditional dress (Gzhel style), I thought you would like to check it up.

All the images taken by me, as always.

Afterwords, or working on Vocabulary

I also was considering some other words this round that came to my mind, but finally they lost to more successful rivals:

daydreaming dedicated debonair dew
disarming dazzling doodles dazed
delicious dessert dancer

Those are all good things, I wanted to illustrate ... but nobody can fit an unfittable, right? I found Dessert and Delicious to be too banal, and the Doodles I lended to my babygirl (not sure if she will use it or not, though). So, most of my entries were a last-minute decisions, impulsed by the actual photos that I preferred to share. Only dancers survived :)

Ну и, конечно же (как говорил мой старый наставник-редактор): "Нельзя впихнуть невпихуемое!"

Hope you enjoyed travelling with me. Come back next week, and join the fun!

I think your D post is even way more original than mine. Now, additionally to the my opinion that the photos are very good and thoughtful taken, here are my thoughts of your D things which came to my mind on first sight:

#1
That's one reason for some evolution deniers: how can the dinosaurs ever have existed and how can our scientists know how they looked like when there's not even one photo or video as evidence available. You should show them your photo - maybe then they will believe in Darwin ;)

#2
On first sight I would either have said your daughter looked dejected or doleful because the seller didn't want to give her a donut, bu tI hope that I'm wrong and "hope" matches better ;)

#3
It's lovely how she looks at your fingers as they make music with the drum.

#4
Either you like such dust catchers or knickknacks or not, but they look cool :)

#5
Your friend is a fantastic actress - she plays really well and in the photo you really think she drowns 😉 lol
Very nice photo and she has a nice smile :)

#6
These dancers look beautiful and you could compare them to our "Goldhaubenfrauen", but I would prefer the clothing of yours and also ours are much older and far away from beautiful ;) https://www.google.com/search?q=goldhaubenfrauen&source=lnms&tbm=isch

So, these are my thoughts which I had when I saw your photos, and I hope you don't mind me giving feedback this different way, but I was in that mood and now I go to bed, wishing you a good night, my friend 😊

Cheers and !BEER

appreciated very much! getting your feedback made a nice evening ending for me (we also were sitting with baby and watching a pile of her old 3 y.o. pictures)

as for the dynos -- I dont have any scientists around... and all of my friends do believe in Darwin and his theory. frankly speaking, I'd prefer to give to sell my picture to gettyimages or adobestock photos
:P

also, its a question of interpretation; those who dont have faith, will not let my shiny pic to convert them :P

Donut: it is one of 6-7 pics I've made, and it shows some beginnings of the process, which was successful, i.e. she got donuts and had an eye contact with me, there are a few where she is smiling happily and widely. I just had this one at my hand and published this. not so fresh :)))

Either you like such dust catchers or knickknacks or not,

yes and no. I dont like them, I hate them, my space already overburden with tonns of dust and stuff like that. but what can I do... I like this stuff. and old papers. this, and the cat, produces a lot of dust... I just restrict myself from buying them -- but we already have a solid stock. I enjoyed very much the vocabulary 'dust catchers' (not for it has another good D-catch!)

she's my baby Godmother, and an artist standing beyond thousand of great works. well, some folks just shine and leave a great trace after themselves -- she's a good example. thanks for these kind words. you probably doubled the fun I have now, after reading your feedback.

I will not suggest you more BEER today, but maybe tomorrow?

Oops, I didn't see that there's one more reply from you, so I wish you once more a good morning @qwerrie 😀

I love to watch the old photos and videos of my children, but they don't like them very much. My kids are almost 18 and have other interests than their baby photos ;) But in a few years they will change their mind, I'm sure :)

You could also send the Dinosaur photo to National Geographic - I don't think I have published a photo yet, I can only remember to have seen paintings, drawings and digital composed images ;)
And that's true - many won't believe it anyway, because they don't want to believe.

The photo is cool - what I said was just my first thoughts "oh, sad little girl, she wants a donut and don't get one". Not only her facial expression made me think that, but also the hand of the seller, which seems to be pointing away, like he or she was saying "I don't give you a donut, go away". Frankly speaking, I prefer and love photos with smiling kids ;) lol

Yes, I kow what you mean, we also have so many of these things around and I hate them too, but most times when we are somewhere abroad we get one more dust catcher ... I didn't think of the D ;)

I hope you had a good night after reading my comment, and you had nice dreams, of course ;)

It's early in the morning and raining outside, so, what's better than a virtual !BEER ? As said in the other comment: a virtual beer means no danger 😉
