FIRST DAY AT WORK

Recently got a job-- I have mentioned this in a previous post. This is my very first official job (I am interning). I haven't had a traditional job in a long time and it feels very awkward.

I woke up early at around 6 a.m this morning to prepare for work. By 7 a.m I was done and ready to hit the road. Lagos is notorious for its traffic and I did not want to be late for my very first day of work.

Well to my greatest surprise the road was relatively free. I got to my office around 8 a.m. My resumption time is 9 a.m. None of my colleagues had resumed. I spent the few minutes I had to gather and thoughts and prepare for the task ahead.

Work turned out to be fun today. It was more fun than work to be honest. I was nervous at first. Well not really because I had met my colleagues last week so I knew what to expect. However, I did consider the work ahead and the expectations they had of me.

I thought my day was going to be filled with a lot of writing, criticing and editing but we spent most of the time discussing. I had one of my directors join in on our conversation. He is interested in cryptocurrency--most of my directors are fortunate.

From my few conversations with my directors--met just two--they are both interested in cryptocurrency and have encouraged me to keep exploring the crypto sphere. Hopefully, I will find a way to get our organization to use the hive blockchain.

I and my colleagues also talked about other things like the state of the country, spirituality, etc. We also had some time to come up with ideas to promote the organizations and the projects we will be working on.

This is the type of challenge I have always wondered about as a creative--something I can build from the ground up with amazing people.

So currently we are a team of four. Our major core is to promote cottage businesses (businesses run from home) in Nigeria(Africa). I am looking forward to exploring my creativity in this new endeavour. Never thought I would ever say this, but I think I might just enjoy working here.

Anyway, I am back home after a stressful journey. Would spend the rest of my day catching up on things here on hive. Cheers!

First of all many congratulations for the job Nonso. That's a fabulous selfie TN and you guys are looking great.

I must say that you are on the right track. Promoting entrepreneurship and helping people to start their home businesses. Sounds like a cool job to me. Hope you will earn great experience from doing so and help as many as you can.

You can also include Content creation on Hive as a probable business opportunity because you literally need a decent machine and a good internet connection to get started. Not sure of your directors will allow but it's worth a try. All the best bro. Hope you have many more of such cool days. First one is always special. 🤞🤞

Thanks, Rob. I will do my very best to bring value to the organization. Hopefully, after my 6month contract expires I would leave there a better place.

I hope so too because my commute back from work yesterday was hell! If I do enjoy the work I might move close to my office.

Congratulations on your new job.
I am happy you are trying out something different while still maintaining your roots.
It's good to know you had fun on your first day and you were able to discuss about your favorite topic; cryptocurrency.
We should be expecting some new bies from your office soon.
