Does that infuriate you? Does it make you laugh? Hive went from the talk of crypto news to some obscure shitcoin. It's somewhere on the second page of major websites such as CMC and @coingecko. It's also most likely dropping.

This isn't 2016. You are competing against thousands of projects for the attention. What are you building that's so much better than the top ranking projects right now? Have you even tried working in other crypto projects?

Nobody looks up the #hive tag on purpose except for those who are already here. If you need "figure out" who's one of you, use the existing tools such as Discord, Telegram, or whatever. You are educating no one and look like a laughable, disorganized, mess to Crypto Twitter.

When phishing and scams are rampant throughout Crypto Twitter, this is your best idea? You couldn't even be assed to have this bot working on Reddit. But let's face it, the only fun tipping bot is the Doge one. Stop living in pre-2016.
All these are moot points though. The people of Hive have already made up their mind by continuing on the path of insanity.
HIVE is now hobby money. You play games that would cost much less than if you did it on Ethereum. And, you get some kickbacks while you are at it. You may not make money, but it's not like Magic or Hearthstone ever gave you any money back.

Abuse is best combated with incentives.
Downvoting is just a temporary deterrence.
The need to play permanent whack-a-mole means there's little to no development catered to incentives that discourage undesirable behaviours.
I guess if a person is looking at hive as a means of making a living wage, then they need to look elsewhere. If an individual is looking for an alternative to Main Stream Social Media such as FB and YT, and Medium and what ever else is out there that is considered Social Media, then Hive is a a good place to start.
Hive is just 8 months old now. There were a few issues with the underlying code from steem that is being worked on by a small group of people. Hive is positioning itself as a base layer client server.
If that is so why do people keep talking about gas fees and how high they are, remember I am not a crypto person. I tried splinterlands, it cost ten dollars for a starter pack that was all, I quit after a year because it just was not my cup of tea any more. I tried the drugwars game, that cost nothing, I tried the Colony game that also cost nothing. So far none of the block chain games seem to be games at all, just money making opportunities for people in crypto.
LeoFinance seems to be doing okay as a second layer application on Hive. I don't know if there are other ones out there or not. Whenever advertising is brought up it seems to only be about accepting or getting people to advertise on the Hive Block chain, no real serious talk or proposals for a real advertising campaign.
I don't know how things are going over on steem and I really do not care, as I see it Hard For 24 was the primary separation from steem, and once we do away with the steem style witness selection and retention issue I will see Hive as it's own complete entity.
How many other crypto projects are Social Media style Platforms? I've tried a few pocket net, whaleshares, blurt, and a couple others that were not steem related, they all fell well short of Hive.
I do though agree with the twatter spam, it really is not needed.
Hive has had the same people for years. Don't let the "technical" time stamp make you feel there's room for slack.
And reread the ETH sentence again. It doesn't mean ETH is cheaper. At all.

If you are talking about "crypto" social. Go ask the broader internet what they've heard of.
Guaranteed that more knows of DLive (and by extension, Tron) than anything Hive-related.

I did mis-read that ETH line about games.
That's just it with broader internet and social, I did not play the FB/YT/Twitter/Google+ game at all, I just saw no redeeming social structure to them, just big biz trying to control the narrative and only have messages approved by their moral standards allowed.
I think until something better comes along I will just wait patiently for the well water to rise to where I just need to did my cup in to get a drink instead of unreeling 30 feet or so of rope.
I don't know who really started Hive, I don't know the names behind Blockbrothers, and I am not even sure if Ned and Dan from steem are a part and parcel of building Hive. I do know that I am not upset at the direction the developers have been taking. I do like how they are trying to keep people informed of what is going on, un-like the communications director for steemit did or the CEO's of steemit did.
Low expectations still yield low results. But whatever floats your boat.
What the Blocktrades team is doing is how most standard dev teams are expected to operate.
But why we do not promote what runs great in Hive like games.
How many are really looking for this alternative? Most people are happy in message forwarding and spreading

Most people are content shitposting to and between friends. Things only rile up as part of the election cycle.
I find whole idea of promoting HIVE as "blogging platform to earn money " is wrong.

BINGO, the fact that the best and most "outside the box or circlejerk" minds make little on here means it is for hobby only and that's fine because it's the same names who did the same shit on steemit which is also worth more BUT for most if they are here for the money only they will be disappointed unless they rigged it enough in the beginning where you had to be in one "gang" or another. Bleak but you are right for the most part.
I was flat out told at times to shut up and obey the magic cirlcles of jerk or get starved out, little do most know that I actually do quite well for myself so the effn' super power troopers can enjoy a 12 cent coin as people flag and run off true influencers with millions of followers and act like a cult when it comes to who can say what and how. It's insipid but I like to write sometimes so whatever...........it's bleak but it is imho , true and most that agree just do it in dm
