Greetings to everyone in the Lifestyle community. Today I’m joining you here to share another day in my life with you. This time, I want to tell you about our wonderful rehearsal at Cerro Bolívar. I think it’s been a month since I joined the choir, and these have been wonderful days spent with the other choir members and Professor Proto. Everyone is unique, and this year has been so productive musically that I feel I’ve learned so much more in 2026 than in all the previous years when I tried to engage with music. That’s a huge accomplishment for someone like me—someone who never had any formal musical training (though I did try to study it back in the day) and who loved music but didn’t know how to perform it properly.

It all started with Canticum and Professor Conchita; things began to change with my voice, and I was able to discover many strengths within myself. That was what motivated me to seek out this discipline. Now, with the new choir, I feel a little more confident about singing and also about letting loose with other songs I hadn’t had the pleasure of singing before. That’s thanks to my previous experience. That’s why I say that every mind is a world unto itself—because these two are different, and each possesses their own unique strengths; as they say, they’re leaders in what they do. Just ask around in Ciudad Guayana and throughout the country. It’s good to know.

Now, getting back to rehearsal, we were rehearsing “María Pancha,” “La Vasija de Barro,” and “Natalia.” We also did some exercises to understand major and minor scales. That was to train our ears for “La Vasija de Barro,” which rises and falls over several measures. I think it’s a very beautiful song that speaks about death in a poetic way. It expresses the longing of someone who asks to be honored after death by being buried like everyone else (in a clay pot), just as tradition dictates. It’s both an acceptance and a request. Which reminds me that these past few months have been a bit difficult because so many people have passed away—starting with those who lost their lives in the twin earthquakes in Venezuela and in other parts of the world, as well as relatives of friends and members of my own family. Let’s hope better days are ahead. With nothing more to say, thank you so much for stopping by.
