We are used to traveling on proven tourist routes and world famous sights. I admit, this is a great way to have a good time. But there are still little-known places in the world where there are no crowds of tourists, where there are no luxury hotels, cafes and restaurants. These places are hidden from the average tourist by the lack of advertising and the huge distances that need to be overcome to look at the wonders of nature. Today I want to talk about such a little-known place.

Today we will talk about a small island located in the endless White Sea. This place is called Kiy Island

How to get to this island? Oh believe me, you will need a lot of patience. First you need to fly to Moscow by plane, then head north to the city of Arkhangelsk. From Arkhangelsk by train or car you need to go to the small town of Onega, which stands on the river of the same name. The road goes along ancient temples and abandoned villages. The sight is rather unusual.

Every day, a boat runs from the city port to the island. Perhaps this is the only opportunity to get to the island.

Good weather in the north is rare. Therefore, the best time to visit the island is two summer months, June and July. June is the most optimal, as it has a significant bonus in the form of northern White Nights.

On the island is something like an old resort. You can stay for one night or for a week, depending on the weather.

I recommend staying for a week. A great opportunity to enjoy the unusual nature of the island. If you are lucky with the weather, you can swim and sunbathe. The island has great fishing. You can catch several types of fish, such as flounder, saffron cod, whitefish, smelt.

The island is a paradise for the artist. A creative person will find here an inexhaustible spring of inspiration. One artists showed me about a hundred paintings and sketches made on the island.

The remains of the complex of the ancient monastery have been preserved on the island. The architecture of the island’s buildings is harsh and pragmatic. The thick walls of the temple are made of huge boulders. Who will explain how in ancient times people without mechanisms raised huge stones to such a height? Old people told me how in the ancient times the monks got to the island at low tide.

The island is an opportunity to relax from the noise and frenzy of a big city. This is an opportunity to immerse yourself, in your feelings and memories.

Мы привыкли путешествовать по проверенным туристическим маршрутам и по известным мировым достопримечательностям. Я признаю, это прекрасный способ неплохо провести время. Но есть еще в мире малоизвестные места, где нет толп туристов, где нет шикарных отелей, кафе и ресторанов. Эти места скрыты от обычного туриста отсутствием рекламы и огромными расстояниями, которые нужно преодолеть, что взглянуть на чудеса природы. Сегодня я хочу рассказать о таком малоизвестном месте. Знакомьтесь, это Кий остров.

Как попасть на этот остров? О, поверьте мне, вам понадобится много терпения. Сначала вам нужно прилететь в Москву на самолете, затем отправиться на север в город Архангельск. Из Архангельска поездом или автомобилем нужно ехать в маленький город Онега который стоит на реке с одноименным названием. Дорога идет мимо древних деревянных храмов и полу заброшенных деревень. Каждый день из городского порта на остров ходит катер. Пожалуй это единственная возможность добраться до острова.

Хорошая погода на севере редкость. Поэтому лучшее время для посещения острова два летних месяца, июнь и июль. Июнь наиболее оптимален, так как имеет весомый бонус в виде северных Белый ночей.

Я рекомендовал бы остаться на неделю. Прекрасная возможность насладиться необычной природой острова. Если повезет с погодой, ты сможешь искупаться и позагорать. На острове великолепная рыбалка. Можно поймать несколько типов рыб, таких как камбала, навага, сиг, корюшка.

Остров - рай для художника. Творческий человек найдет здесь неисчерпаемый родник вдохновения. Один из художников показал мне около сотни картин и набросков сделанных на острове.

На острове сохранились остатки комплекса древнего монастыря. Архитектура построек острова сурова и прагматична. Толстые стены храма сделаны из огромных валунов. Кто объяснит мне, как в древности люди без механизмов поднимали такие огромные камни на такую высоту? Старые люди рассказывали мне как в древности монахи добирались до острова во время отлива.

Остров - это возможность отдохнуть от шума и безумств большого города. Это возможность погрузиться в себя, в свои чувства и воспоминания.
