Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes algunas de mis fotos favoritas con relación a la vida musical de mi abuelo. Cuando las estaba seleccionando me puse a pensar que en ese tiempo no había mucha facilidad para tomarse fotos siempre sin embargo, me sorprende que mi abuelo logró capturar grandes momentos por medio de estas fotografías que a mi parecer son increíbles.

Hello to all the hive community, I hope you are well in your little house accompanied by your loved ones.

Today I want to share with you some of my favorite photos related to my grandfather's musical life. When I was selecting them I started to think that at that time it was not easy to take pictures all the time. However, I am surprised that my grandfather managed to capture great moments through these photographs that I think are incredible.

Sin más que decir los invito a dar un recorrido por la vida musical de mi abuelo "Magallanes" y a conocer un poco el detrás de camara de cada fotografía. ¡Comencemos!

Without further ado, I invite you to take a tour of the musical life of my grandfather "Magallanes" and to get to know the behind-the-scenes of each photograph. Let's get started!

Foto #1: ¡Mi favorita!

Me impresiona mucho todos los elementos de esta fotografía! En ella se observa como protagonista principal a mi abuelo ejecutando su trompeta dorada, de fondo tenemos a un integrante de la orquesta desconocido y además, se aprecia una "sordina" (Herramienta que se introduce en la campana de los instrumentos de viento metal y reduce la sonoridad).

I am very impressed by all the elements in this picture! It shows my grandfather playing his golden trumpet as the main character, in the background we have an unknown member of the orchestra and also a "mute" (a tool that is inserted into the bell of brass instruments and reduces the sound).

Foto #2: En familia🥰

Esta foto es una de las que más me llama la atención! No sé quién la tomo, si era algo planificado o simplemente fue espontáneo. En ella se ve mi abuelo Magallanes, mi abuela Melva y mi mamá "Nereida" que estaba muy pequeña. Cabe destacar que mi abuela fue pilar fundamental para que mi abuelo lograra forjar tu carrera musical.

This photo is one of the ones that catches my attention! I don't know who took it, if it was something planned or if it was just spontaneous. In it you can see my grandfather Magallanes, my grandmother Melva and my mother "Nereida" who was very young. It's worth mentioning that my grandmother was a fundamental pillar for my grandfather to be able to forge your musical career.

Foto #3: La mejor etapa

Por ser músico siempre me ha gustado los elementos que complementan un escenario musical, por tanto, esta foto me recuerda a aquellas películas neoyorkinas en los tiempos de Héctor Lavoe dónde los clubes nocturnos de salsa eran epicentro de grandes artistas latinos. Por supuesto esta foto no fue en New York, fue en Ecuador pero le encuentro ese estilo.

Being a musician I have always liked the elements that complement a musical scenario, therefore, this photo reminds me of those New York movies in Hector Lavoe's time where salsa nightclubs were the epicenter of great Latin artists. Of course this photo was not in New York, it was in Ecuador but I find that style.

Foto #4: Primera Trompeta

Después de una larga trayectoria mi abuelo formó parte de la Agrupación "Orlando y su combo" dónde tuvo la responsabilidad de ejecutar la primera trompeta. La foto en general es la portada del disco "Capocho Chok's" y protagonizan todos sus integrantes, entre los que conocí se encuentra mi abuelo Magallanes y el cantante principal llamado "El negro caraota" Omar Ferrer quién sale en el lado izquierdo agachado. Según mi mamá la foto fue tomada en un estudio discográfico en Caracas.

After a long trajectory my grandfather was part of the "Orlando y su combo" group where he had the responsibility of playing the first trumpet. The photo in general is the cover of the album "Capocho Chok's" and all its members are protagonists, among those I met is my grandfather Magallanes and the lead singer called "El negro caraota" Omar Ferrer who is on the left side crouched. According to my mom the photo was taken in a recording studio in Caracas.

Foto #5: Una sonrisa

No es porque sea mi abuelo pero en esta foto para mí se llevó el protagonismo. En esta foto se observa la misma orquesta "Orlando y su Combo" pero unos años después con algunos nuevos integrantes. A Magallanes se le ve un rostro muy natural y sonriente, e incluso es el único que mostró los dientes🙊. ¡De mis favoritas!

It's not because he's my grandfather but in this photo he took the lead for me. In this photo you can see the same orchestra "Orlando y su Combo" but a few years later with some new members. Magallanes has a very natural and smiling face and he is even the only one who showed his teeth, one of my favorites!

Foto #6: Toda una vida

A pesar de que mi abuelo fue integrantes de varias agrupaciones durante toda su trayectoria, esta específicamente fue una de sus últimas orquestas bailables "Los Brillantes en Caracas". La foto en general es la portada del disco el cual protagoniza todos sus integrantes. Además tiene una sección a su lado izquierdo dónde menciona las 11 piezas incluidas del disco. Según mi mamá esta foto fue tomada en una plaza de Caracas y cuenta con una visual muy natural.

Although my grandfather was a member of several groups throughout his career, this one specifically was one of his last dance orchestras "Los Brillantes en Caracas". The photo in general is the cover of the album which stars all its members. It also has a section on the left side where it mentions the 11 pieces included in the album. According to my mom this photo was taken in a square in Caracas and has a very natural visual.

En fin, en nuestro album existen muchas fotos más sin embargo, quise compartirles mis favoritas! Personalmente es gratificante saber que mi abuelo dejó estas hermosas fotografías para recordarlo y conocer su gran trayectoria musical, por esto les invito a capturar aquellos momentos especiales que son únicos en nuestras vidas para que las próximas generaciones pueden verlas y se llenen de mucha inspiración.

Anyway, in our album there are many more pictures but I wanted to share my favorites with you! Personally, it is gratifying to know that my grandfather left these beautiful photographs to remember him and to know his great musical career, for this reason I invite you to capture those special moments that are unique in our lives so that the next generations can see them and be filled with much inspiration.
