After a Storm

There's nothing quite like a summer storm, complete with lightning, thunder and gusty torrents of rain.

Yesterday was balmy, humid, overcast 36°C. Suddenly, there was a short, not very sharp shower. A lull, and then the heavens opened.

I have always loved - since I was a little girl - the light and smells that follow a storm. Today was no different.

Oh, and look carefully, and you will find a rainbow over the brow of the hill...

It's the first storm of the year. They don't happen often and they leave the garden bright and fresh...

...albeit somewhat battered after 11,5mm of rain in less than an hour.

I always love the water that hangs from the leaves of the quiver tree.

After retrieving the washing (white linen, of course!) from the line and garden, it was time for a seasonal, meatfree summer supper of ratatouille.

A good way to end a day.

Until next time, be well
