Keeping well and Marketing Hive

Well, the kids are finally back in school. 6 months of them being at home and personally I found it difficult. But facts are, winter is coming. It all feels like an episode of Game of Thrones. Covid being the white walkers. Within a week, 2 local schools have already sent home classes to be quarantined for 2 weeks.

With the kids being home for so long and the fact that I work around them means I got very little done. The pile of work that was building is going to take me ages to clear. I just hope my kids get to stay in school for at least 6 weeks so I can try and catch up. And obviously I hope we all keep well.

In the meantime, I have started to promote hive again and the Excel for ALL hive community. I have updated my website to reflect the learn and earn activities are Hive based (obviously my website is connected to hive using @steempress) and I am including links in my weekly newsletter.

My Hiveonboard account tells me I have referred 24 new users. Although only 3 of these have had any activity, and it has not been steady regular activity either. But this is not a bad thing. After all, I have said many times, we can not all be creators and bloggers. We need content consumers and that's exactly what these users are. The problem however is that if many of them signed up via my website, they would not be aware of the likes of Peakd to find other content. However, those that have signed up to join the community would have been given a link https://peakd.com/c/hive-102332/about and so have the opportunity to explore the platform more.

The aim now is to continue to promote the community and to continue doing what I have been doing with steempress and to press ahead trying to grow my community. There are many very successful Excel communities out there, and there are also plenty of spammy terrible ones too. with so much competition of successful communities, this is not going to be easy.

If you would like to check out how I am promoting Hive on my website do check out my latest post. You will see the steempress comments in action and you will see a community invitation. The website gets over 25K visits a month, at least it's a little visibility for the blockchain.

Anyway, I hope all of you peeps are doing well? Whats been going on with you? Have you any news?

Jeepers, they gave us the choice here and I kept all my liluns at home and are 'remote learning'. I have a new respect for both homeschoolers and teachers as a whole now! No joke. They needa be paid like a million dollars a year, omg. On the professional side, we have a proposal out. I'm one of the founders of a company called @fullalt. Check the upcoming proposals or hop over to our blog and you can't miss it. :hugging:

I cant afford to home school. I need to provide for them which I cant do if they are home. It has not been easy. Plus I'm very much on my own with the kids. My family are hundreds of km away, not that it matters when in lockdown. But 24/7 me and the kids has taken its toll after 6 months

Loving the proposal. Very very much so. It fits with something I started online a few weeks back. I will vote later when the kids go to bed and I can turn in my laptop. I might even drop into discord to say hi and have a chat. Thats so way cool, Youtube and Gmail. Damn. I have to find out more. Laters

Thank you for approving it sweets. Maybe we have to put our heads together on a few marketing tactics ;)

I feel you on the single parent bit. I raised my boys by myself for over 10 years with little help from my parents or their mother. I went through idk how many nannies and sitters just to keep things moving. Never easy and I imagine the lack of travel does make it all the more tough. You have my sympathies for sure.
