Oh! How I long for the ocean!

IMG_2080.JPG

No one is allowed on the beach, but my camera can walk anywhere!

So weird not to see any soul on the beach, but lockdown has shut it down.
We nipped out for bread and milk and I sat outside in the car taking these shots on the zoom.
Come and have a look!

IMG_2066.JPG

A wave that was calling me; "Come and walk" it whispers from afar!

IMG_2072.JPG

Seagulls enjoying the freedom and space in a happy community!

IMG_2074.JPG

It is when I look at this, the call of the ocean reverberates in my soul.

IMG_2081.JPG

The beach, bereft of humans is like a desert that's been consoled by the kissing of the waves!

IMG_2084.JPG

Solitude is to be praised above all other human habits, especially if one wants to have a mental conversation with the ancient waters!

IMG_2087.JPG

Finally it was back home where we play with the squirrels in our prison!

I have some excerpts from a special poem for you!

"Laugh and the world laughs with you;
Weep, and you weep alone.
For the sad old earth must borrow it's mirth,
But has trouble enough of it's own.
Sing, and the hills will answer;
Sigh, it is lost on the air.
The echoes bound to a joyful sound,
But shrink from voicing care".
(Ella Wheeler Wilcox)

So next time that you go shopping, keep an eye out for the wonders that surround you. (Try take a little detour if you can lol)

Note: All photos are my own, unedited and only cropped for uploading!
Camera used: Canon Powershot SX60HS on the power zoom.

We hope that you have enjoyed the pictures and thank you for visiting a post by @papilloncharity

I figured on two double bed covers for the saddle JJ tied around his stomach with a long rope hahaha.
Yes, nature is slowly taking revenge and invading mankind's territory now.
What a turn up for the books!
Blessings!

Hahahaha, that will be a kind of a job, or should I say that would be a kind of a huge job. Will have to get some volunteers.

...and I sigh with you...so longing for the ocean, would be like heaven on earth hearing the waves crash on the rocks or gently break on the sand! I just love the words in that poem, thank you so much for sharing my friend, blessings to you and Marian, enjoy your Sunday down in the beautiful Cape mountains:)

Thank you my dear friend. That poem so clearly talks about our walk in this life.
So many times we sing out to the hills at Papillon, but their answer never reaches us, as it is lost on the air.

I am supposed to do a service at an old age home this morning, but since this lockdown started we have not been there. In phone contact with them, but if only this country would get it's care of the aged right, they give them such tiny grants.
Mind you, I am also going to be penniless when I get old (no pension), but I won't take a government pension and will die in my own house.

In any case, may you guys also have a peaceful and blessed Sunday!

(Edited)

I feel so sorry for those forgotten old people! Especially now with lockdown as some of the places are confining them to their rooms!
We've been watching the online services, our local minister and also our previous minister who now lives in Canada, so that's been one plus that lockdown brought as these are available online to anyone anywhere! You could get Marian to videotape your service if you so wish and upload it to youtube or do a live broadcast on Facebook, not sure how they do that though.
It's a gorgeous sunny day here so I am counting my blessings, a blessed Sunday for both of you as well!
PS just keep on blogging, it's a good way to earn a little, really helps patch the holes;)

Sadly the old people here, especially the poor ones do not have the facilities to watch broadcasts my friend. No TV's and many only have land lines. Some not even that and they have to wait for office hours to make a call. A hell of a life after spending productive lives in this country. Now they are shelved.

Since I entered here I have been blogging on average one blog per day my friend and you are right, as it is slowly coming together now. I will DM you.
Blessings and I don't have to remind you to take care hahaha

I hear the waves crashing in at night, sound travels up between the hills, alas so close yet so far!

Yearning to get to the beach again, best time of the year for walks, will have to make a detour to find a spot to just take a peek and let the ocean know we are still here...

Be childlike and make a plan Lady Joan, my excuse if I got caught was to say that I was taking the car for a run to charge the battery.
I know how you feel.
