Good day community

When that day began, my goal was to get away from the noise, from the streets and sidewalks, from the city and its stress. I headed towards a road that goes several kilometers away and is only passable by mountain bike or on foot. I am located in the Extremaduran province of Cáceres in the West of Spain. This area of the country has very special and different characteristics and ecosystems. You can find yourself from large esplanades, impressive areas that are usually used for grazing livestock such as sheep or cattle, as well as mountainous areas further north with their special fauna and flora. To the south of the province and almost attached to Portugal, an area of holm oak meadows and the special ecosystem of the border with neighboring Badajoz.

The route is easy at first, the paths, although made of sand and stones, are easy to navigate since you have to cross a significant portion of plain until you reach the foot of a mountain that dominates the entire area. Once you have reached this section, it becomes winding and begins a winding ascent towards almost the top. This route is full of surprises at every meter that one travels and it is good, if you are going to take photography, be well prepared. I usually carry several memory cards in the camera as well as different lenses that allow me to take different shots. In this very special publication I have selected some close-ups to show that I consider to be a good example of this adventure.

When I was returning, almost reaching the city of Cáceres, I found a friend I hadn't seen for a long time, Manuel, as he is called, was with his small tractor with a trailer loading something from a special land. He was explaining to me that it was a clay soil that he needed for some unusual plants that he was taking care of as if they were his treasure. He is the chief gardener of the botanical gardens in my city. He invited me to get on the tractor to show me those wonderful plants that were in bloom at the moment, the black lilies.

Arriving at the Parque del Principe where his work is located, he took me to a corner of it, there was a small wooden bridge that crossed a small stream and that did not look very safe, when crossing it on the slope of this space I could see those precious and rare flowers. I was very surprised because I had seen them in other colors but I had never seen them in black. In this place and avoiding the wild and tall grass, ecosystem of these lilies, I began to take many images to have a good photographic report.

Later he invited me to enter the botanist's operations center, with great luck since this is a space that cannot be visited and has been used as a laboratory and hospital for his work. He told me to take all the time I needed to take pictures and for me it was a unique opportunity to take pictures of some beautiful and strange plants, at least for me. I didn't have much time so I made an appointment with him to make another visit focusing only on this part of the park, I'm looking forward to that moment. I hope you like these photographs, greetings friends.
