At the beginning of December another of my beloved succulent plants began to show its rhizomes, announcing that beautiful and delicate flowers would come. After almost a year since one of my aunts gave it to me, and that on a couple of occasions it was about to die, I would finally see my so longed for flaming katy flowers.



This beautiful girl almost died several times, because she did not know the care we should give to our succulents, such as the fact that we should water only once a week in summer and once every 15 days in winter, in principle I watered them daily, which caused a kind of fungus to be generated that was rotting some of its branches and leaves. After being well informed of its care, I started to lower the frequency of watering and moved it to a place where the sun would hit it indirectly, and the result in a few weeks was remarkable. A new healthy and bright plant.



Flaming Katy (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana), also known as christmas kalanchoe, kalanchoe florist and widow of Madagascar, is a succulent of the family of kalanchoes, originally from Madagascar, and that we can find with inflorescences of diverse colors, as they are it the white, red, yellow, fascia, orange and pink. Its flowering begins at the time when the nights are longer than the days, its flowers take about 3 weeks to open, and are long lasting, which makes them perfect for beautifying our garden.
