Very cool! I’ve recently been curious snout the life of peanuts and where they’re grown. It’s one of those things you eat but don’t really wonder about it’s origins or natural appearance.

We’ve been doing a lot of education for the local plants this summer. Besides because we are home schooling (decision made years ago, not because of the China flu) we’ve been looking for more things to show our son and what better thing than the local flora and fauna? I’ve learned what baby maple and birch trees look like. Pine and oak are easy but some of the others aren’t. We had a couple trees we cut down for my wife’s uncle that we don’t know what it was, it was a shame.

Really cool story about the peanut plant! I know we all have different scenarios but a wooden box in the basement with a grow light in the winter is out of the question? Hopefully you can find someone to give the plant a home in a greenhouse!

Glad you dropped by to let me know you enjoyed it @cmplxty. If you wish to know more about peanuts and where they're from, you'll gain some insight following the links I have provided my readers.

Interesting to learn you are homeschooling. We did that for years with our children. Never regretted a moment of it. Just never want to pretend it isn't hard work. But ... Well worth it!

Great idea on setting it up indoors somehow. Not practical for our situation, but just like I mention about a greenhouse being on the "wish list," we would also love to have some means of being able to grow plants indoors year around. By that, I mean significant quantities of nutritious plants for eating ...

Maybe someday!
