Magnus the Magnificent gets off on the wrong foot yet again...

I tend to get a kick out of genre-crossing references, so I don't even bat an eye when it comes to putting a Spongebob Squarepants reference in a D&D story arc. After having done the same with "My Little Pony" references in earlier D&D strips, anyone surprised by this hasn't been paying attention... 😁

As for poor Magnus the Magnificent, it appears his value as a hostage apparently diminishes in inverse proportion to the amount of time spent with his captors. Will our heroes manage to rescue him before he's sold yet again by his new captors? Or will the water cult cut their losses and feed him to a hungry dragon turtle? Stay tuned to find out...

I love a few cultural references in stories. Keeps it relevant.

Confession time... I never liked the Spongebob cartoon (probably because I was neither 8-years-old or high on something). But it was the best water-based reference I could think of 😏

I only saw it because my kids watched it. I guess it was anarchic and gross at times. Just what kids like.

I agree with this.
Cultural references are good.
