Meeting with a famous artist Louis Chanu

At last as I wanted to see him at work.

There he is in his workshop, Louis Chanu with my wife Marian.
Hi all, and today I will introduce you to an exceptional artist.

This is the man that is the talk of the town and in South Africa. I have been waiting for him to return from an exhibition tour, to meet him at his studio and workshop.
So we arranged the meeting and we saw some great sculptures in progress at his place.
Come and have a look.

We left early morning to hit the country roads, as it was some trip.

This was the entrance to his workspace.

You can see some of his sculptures still in the molds, and the front one was recently taken out of the mold.

But who is Louis Chanu and what does he do?

Here is another one upside down, as Louis was busy with the finishing and the polishing.

A client ordered one of these smaller ones, and the orders continue to stream in.

Here he was busy on another of his famous clay figures. Perfect for the houses here in our winelands.
The figure is called "Harvest-time".

He lifted the bucket at the back to give us an idea of what the figure would look like.

This model was made in the mold that you see at the back in the picture there, and that was the old style of him making his sculptures.

It was such a pleasure to meet Louis at last, and let me tell you that this man has a great future ahead of him. Many tourists to our country have also ordered stuff from him. Some technical artists from France also visited Louis to learn how to mix the special heat resistant composite that he mixes for his resin sculptures.
The extra strength and heat resistant properties protects the sculptures when they are placed outside in the sun.

Awesomeness pure and simple. He is an extraordinary talent. His work is so beautiful. The picture of Marilyn Monroe caught my eye, that will be some sculpture I am sure.

Thank you Lady Robin and you are right as his work is really exeptional.
I am glad that we have now established a friendship, and he is also in the process of relocating his workshop and studio to our town here. So we will definitely see more of him.

Very interesting report on your visit to Louis workplace and his art. I think he has great talent and a very marked character in his sculptures.

I can see you had a lovely time with him, you're fortunate of having his friendship but I'm not surprised since you are awesome people too.

Thank you for kindly popping in @drakernoise and the man's work is addictive as most of the wine farms here have his work on display. In fact that's where I saw it first and I was determined to meet the artist who is our new friend now.
I don't know so much about us being awesome thank you, but I see us only as caring people.

The good news is that he is also in the process of moving here to our town and we will get to see him more.

I will tell him that you thanked him for showing his place to all of us here.

Thank you and no, that picture was taken yesterday. I have many photos of Marian with squirrels in our house. Also videos of their grandmother climbing all over Marian and seaching for nuts in her pockets.

I know the ones here are new, I was wondering if his art was also in the other post? It seemed like his previously made pieces were shown somewhere, but I can't remember where :)

Oh yes, I did a fewc posts of Marian and Squirry, that included the videos last year.
I have also done other posts of the Chanu art a couple of months ago.

Yep, as expected and I staked all important tokens yesterday. Don't know when it will become effective and then I might have tokens again.
