I know this is not a story of your life, but I see some elements of your struggles in it. I remember, too, back when you thought you couldn't write fiction. Excellent work Henrry. (two r's or two n's?)

😊
Thank you kindly, @owasco
Two r's
This is story that sort of wrote itself. As soon as I saw the prompt I knew how it would start and how it would end. It was one of those instances where you can't help but thank the source material. I had just met a friend the day before who has been struggling for years now with something similar. She is just one of many others in similar situations. I, too have a relative who has given us our fair share of headaches and my wife has a cousin who, under his drug-induced spells, has even threatened us to burn us alive. And the list goes on and on.
All these people have gotten plenty of chances and they screw up once and again. The narrator's solution came as a logical option amid desperation and a desire for self-preservation.
I too want to think it's fiction, but still...

I have heard it said that all good fiction is based, in part, on the author's personal experiences. I know mine is. I think of something that I experienced, and my character experiences it too.

We are all topsy turvy now. I can understand anyone who goes off kilter.
