"Optical Delusions" by Richard F. Yates (Holy Fool)

I'm not going to talk about the debate...

Instead, let's look at some fuckin' ART! (Anything to get away from that mess...)

I drew this tonight:

I'm not sure what inspired it...just overall horror and anxiety, I suppose. I tried to punch it up a bit by adding some digital color...

I'm pretty happy with that. Mariah (the WIFE, aka @mariahyates ) said she liked this one...and I don't THINK it was a pity like!

HOWEVER!!! Since this modern world seems to enjoy the GLITCHIES, I took the piece for a little MOSH and came up with some weirdness...

Not sure what to call that, but it's fun... A couple MORE pieces I came up with are a bit more difficult on the eyes. These two pieces remind me of the optical experiments of Duchamp and Man Ray, or of old zoetrope or phenakistoscope animations (all created by spinning artwork to create strange optical effects.)

Pretty fun, if you ask me! (I actually think I like the muted color version better...which is strangely un-punk of me!)

I might tokenize one or all of these on NFT Showroom, eventually...but not tonight... I have a folder on my laptop JAMMED FULL of artwork waiting to be tokenized... Who knows how long it will take to get it ALL up and out there! I've said it before, even when I tokenize two or three new pieces a day, I MAKE half a dozen, so (unless I just STOP making junk), I will NEVER be able to mint even a tenth of my output (which I might need to remind you, goes back FOUR DECADES!) I still have journals, diaries, and notebooks going back to when I was 8 or 9 years old!!! I'll have to scan and tokenize every page of my notebooks some day! That would be tediously brilliant... Might take a while, too.

Okay. That's it for tonight! (No poetry this time, (try not to cry for too long), but if you're still hungry for intellectual stimulation, just look up videos of phenakistoscopes and enjoy that oddball shit for a few minutes!
