Hive Power Up Day - Let's grow together!

The Hive Power Up Day (PUD) is taking place on the first day of every month and the next one will occur in a few days, on October 1st!

Since August 1st, HiveBuzz supports this initiative which allows you to collect Power-bee badges if you participate in the Hive Power Up Day.

In the last edition, we saw a 36% increase in the number of participants and we hope to beat this record once again.

For more information about the next coming PUD, you can read this post from @traciyork or this post from @victoriabsb.

Are there any changes to this edition?

The answer is yes and no.

No, because we keep the changes made during the previous edition, namely:

  • a lower minimum requirement of 10 HIVE to power up to get a badge
  • a scale of Power-Bees depending on how much HIVE you power up, the only difference being that you now know the thresholds used for the different levels.

Read the previous edition announcement and feedback the for more information on this.

Yes, because we love fun above all else and it would be less fun without a little bit of novelty.

But to discover them, you will have to have a little more patience... All we will say is that the concept of mutual support within a community will play an important role.

How to get your Power Up Day badge (October edition)?

  1. You will have to power-up HIVE on the 1st day of October.

    IMPORTANT:
HiveBuzz will use UTC date and time to validate when your powered-up. Therefore, check your timezone and convert your local time to UTC before powering up! To help you not miss the moment when you can do your power-up, we added a countdown to our website.

  2. Power-up at least 10 HIVE. This will entitle you to the smallest power-bee. The more HIVE you power up, the bigger your power-bee!

  3. You don't have to power them up in one step. All the Hive powered up will be counted together at the end of the day.

Strictly follow these rules and this badge will be on your board!

The badges will be distributed to all successful participants at the end of the Power Up Day.

Why participate in the Hive PUD

The first reason is to have fun.

Then, in addition to making your vote more valuable and growing your curation rewards (as well as earning interest on your stake), you will also strengthen your influence on the blockchain.

Finally, some amazing members, like @victoriabsb, @traciyork, @r1s2g3, @minnowsupport and others, are offering prizes that include delegations, Hive giveaways, and other cool stuff to the Hive PUD participants.

And last but not least, remember this small note we added to our previous announcement:

Note: Maybe you should start to collect as many PUD badges as possible. Just saying...

Just to tease you about things we prepared for the next editions.

Be ready and Power Up!

I'm working towards the same as I want to get my vote value over the dust threshold.

If my estimate is right, you need around 2000HP-2500HP for your 100% votes to be over the dust threshold. At around 100HP you'll see your vote value tick up to ~0.001.
I could be way off though, I didn't look too much into the relation between HP and vote value.

you are just about right i dont know much about it either I have about 650 hp and depending on how much mana I have my votes vary, mana is drained as u upvote right now I am at 84% mana which reload every 24 hours I think, Long story short my upvote with 650 hp varies from 0.003 to 0.009 and I also noticed that my upvote will put some post up 2 cents if you will while other upvotes boost the post 75 cents or more

That sounds about right. I'll be happy getting my vote power to a couple cents then just keep building from there. If everyone had a couple cents for each vote it would add up at an incredible rate as we all started upvoting each others posts. From there it would be a sort of snowball affect and just continue to grow!

Nice. I have powered up around 50k Hive this month. Do I need to only power up on the first of the month?

If you want to receive the badge you have to power up on the first of the month at least 10Hive, just as described in the post @derangedvisions 😉

I love this concept!! I need to start restraining myself from powering up frequently to save it for the power-up days hahahahha. Just because I want to feel as though I'm participating; and I don't think I'll have 10 HIVE by the first.

Stay spooky 🎃

If I've gotten 10 HIVE by then I'll definitely participate. I have doubts that I'll have enough though.

You can also exchange HBD to Hive and then power up, or buy some. There are many simple ways to participate @death-and-taxes! But don't feel obligated 😉

I'd buy some if I could, but I only have my account and my initial 13.668 Hive because I borrowed from a friend.

I'll definitely be participating in this event from now on when I can though. I probably won't have enough to get a badge for October, I'll aim to get one in November though.

This is a scam!!!

Nice try to motivate people to Power Up.... I thought, Ok let's do it.

I just bought some HIVE with Blocktrades and they failed to send them to my wallet.
Their reason: " BlockTrades sets different minimum deposit amounts for each trading pair. The minimum deposit is displayed in the deposit instructions. Please try again with an amount above the minimum deposit limit. This transaction is not eligible for a refund.".

Their Deposit limit: 4.9343 ETH... As Biden would say 'Come On, Man'

Nice try, i guess i will say HIVE goodbye for now.

Your'e confusing the minimum deposit limit and the deposit limit. The deposit limit is the "max" you could send. In this case, the max limit is so low because you haven't provided KYC info, so you're limited to approximately $1750 USD per day. The minimum deposit limit in the instructions we show you on how to send us funds. At the time of your transaction, it was right around the amount you sent (0.011 ETH). Generally, we recommend you send 5 to 10 times the minimum amount, because that minimum amount is a flat fee we have to charge to process your transaction (in this case, we have to transfer the ETH from the unique ETH address we gave you to our internal ETH wallet address).

Good Morning @hivebuzz! Do we need to do anything besides power up? I did my power up this morning at around 7 a.m. for my time zone (CST). I powered up over 1000.
