Baka to Test to Shōkanjū: the anime that brought me into this great world

Hello Hive friends! It's happened again, but this time I've been focused on finishing my college subjects. Once I finish them, I won't have to see anymore. These last few days have been a little rough, but one always comes back, even if they are. Today I bring you the anime that introduced me to this cool world with such memorable characters. So let's go with the review.

This anime begins by introducing us to the main character, Akihisa Yoshii, who studies at the Fumizuki Academy. This academy has a class system in which each student carries a letter. The protagonist belongs to class F, the lowest class. In addition, the building of class F is in poor condition and lacks resources. As you can imagine, the students of class F are teased by the upper classes.

The plot of the anime starts to get interesting when they announce a new evaluation system. In this system, students can summon avatars to fight in battles. These avatars are called Shoukanjuu and represent the summoner's academic level. The higher the academic level, the better the avatar. Because our protagonist is considered a "dummy", the avatar he manages to summon is weak, as he has a very low academic level.

Despite this, our protagonist and his friends will do their best to improve and stop being a class F mistreated by the other classes. The combats between summoners will involve a lot of strategy that will make us laugh, since each character must use his intellectual capacity and cunning to earn points and improve his level. In addition, comedy is one of the strong points of this anime, as it is based on the different personalities of each character. There is also a bit of romance, as Akihisa is interested in an A student, but the interaction between the two is made difficult due to the large class differences and prejudices in the academy.

"Baka to Test" was one of the first anime I seriously watched, where I actually sat down to watch every episode. I didn't watch it on TV intermittently. I remember a friend recommending it to me when I was in high school, since everyone was talking about it and I wanted to fit in. I was told to start with this anime, as it was very light-hearted and would make me laugh in every episode, either because of the strategies or the personality of each character. It really pushed me to keep watching it. Mind you, the plot is not very complicated, it's rather simple: a group of friends who want to improve their class and the typical romance theme. I must say that the end of the first season is a bit inconclusive and it is not known who the main character really stays with, but despite that, I found it a pretty funny anime at the time, plus it also has a second season. After watching this anime, I watched "Clannad" and it broke my heart. If you're looking for a fun anime to pass the time that features few episodes, "Baka to Test" might be a great choice. If you want, you can leave me in the comments which was the first anime you seriously watched.

Realmente me impulsó a seguir viéndolo.

Interesting first anime, the plot sounds good and it's the first I've heard of it. As for my first anime it was Death Note I think, although not in a serious way because I only watched it in bits and pieces on TV. When I discovered the world of anime and sat down to watch something proper for the first time, I remember the ones I watched were comedies like Arakawa Under The Bridge and Good Luck Girl!

I think a good way to start watching anime has to be with something pretty light like a comedy or something very interesting that grabs you from chapter one, but everyone will work differently. I think Death Note was one of the first anime of that style that I saw that really interested me. Thanks for your comment <3
