The Annoying Customer.

Welcome to my blog and another wonderful edition of the Hive Learners' featured post. Customers are not always right, in fact. I used to say and believe this until my mom owned a shop of her own where she sold food items.
I never believed there could be elderly people who are so annoying and would want to treat you as trash just because you sell food items at the market. My experience with this elderly woman would have been recorded as an attempted murder if not for self-control.
Sometimes we are asked to go to the shop whenever she travels in order to restock, and this is when I realized it is at the market that you will come across the most annoying beings on earth. These annoying beings made it obvious that customers are not always right; they exhibit characters that contradict the saying.
It is true that every business owner needs customers for business to flourish, but these days, the customers are just bent on giving you that feeling that without them you are nothing, and they as well forget that without you as the seller, they'd die of hunger and starvation. The truth is that both the buyer and the seller need each other.
At first, I was kind of shy to follow my mom to the shop because we never had such an experience from childhood, and all of a sudden she wants to introduce us to it. It took time before I could overcome my shyness and start following her to the market willingly and happily.
Each time I see how some customers treat her, it always pisses me off, but she, who's at the receiving end of the treatment, does not get angry at all. She always says that's the only way to deal with these people—you act like you don't see anything.
One faithful day I was there alone, and an elderly woman who is old enough to be my mother came to buy crayfish. Crayfish was very expensive then, so my mom had to reduce the quantity that goes in the nylon bag. Without reducing the quantity, it is impossible to recover your capital, not to mention make a profit.
This woman picked one up and asked for the price. I told her it was sold for 50 naira ($0.11). The next thing she could do was throw my crayfish away because it was too small. Where the crayfish landed got it condemned; it fell inside a jar of red oil. If not for self-control, I almost uttered words to the woman.
If I had done or said anything, my mom would have disapproved, and she'd be disappointed, but this does not mean that what she did was right. Customers are not always right; they just get nice treatment from sellers so as to ensure continued patronage.

Oh come on no matter what I would have made her pay for the fish. You cant come and touch touch stuff and just destroy it at the end. Even if I didn’t make her pay I would have said some words she wouldn’t like.
So when your mom came back did you inform her about what had happened? If you told her what was her reaction?

Her neighbors did not even give me the chance to talk, they did all the talking. She only said thank God I did not react.
You know everyone grows up with their characters abi? So does annoying people which this elderly woman displayed. Thank God for your self control. But if it were I, I won't fight her but I'm definitely not collecting the soiled crayfish back.
She would have to pay and carry it because even God doesn't approve what she did.

I have seen some customers treat the sellers as if they are their slaves. They even use bad language and have pride on it.
The elderly woman absolutely did wrong to you but as you said she was elderly it wouldn't sound nice to react in a bad way. However nothing makes her action acceptable.
Did you tell your mom what happened?
The other women did the talking when my mom came back, I am just glad their report was a nice one.

It true dear, if I were you I would have told her plainly that she has already condemn the crayfish. I found out that female customers are more annoying than the males. Thanks for sharing, do have a nice day
I cannot help but agree with you, it's quite difficult to handle a female customer.
Both buyers and sellers need each other to survive and as buyers, we need to treat all sellers nicely but also be careful so they don´t take advantage of such on you. What the woman did was unfair, it´s obvious. She could have just dropped it and left instead of throwing such away. At least, she will also be a seller in her own place too.
this is what some buyers tend to forget, for an economy to grow both the buyer and seller plays a vital role.
I believe she also sells a thing or to but today she's a buyer, she turned out to be an arrogant one.
Hahahaha you will find all kind of human being on earth in the market some don't even what to buy oo they just come to ask for price and compare it 🤣🤣🤣 thank God you didn't slap her it would have been murder attempt case 😂,
Woman can price things for a living and I proudly one of them 🤣🤣🤣
I agree with your statement that customers are not always right. There are times when things they do are wrong but are right in their eyes and customers like that are usually very annoying. 😅
They are not always right buy sellers need to tolerate their attitude.
