POB - Word of the Week Challenge - Persistence

I remember well the day I heard the word persistence more clearly. The year was 2013 in the month of October. I traveled more than 300km to participate in training for a company that that year I had started. There was no obligation, the company did several trainings around the country, and whoever wanted to go would go. But in this case, he was a coach that I only saw on social media at events away from my home. So when he was close to “300km” I went.

What he said and said on stage if it's true about his life, I don't know. After a while I stopped believing anyone who comes up and talks nice (but that is a subject for another post). But the message itself moved me a lot.

2013 was the year that started to change my life and the way I saw it mainly in the financial sense. 2013 was the last year that I received a salary.

It's been almost 8 years of living a different life that started back there. At a time when I decided to seek my happiness and my freedom. When I was going to various trainings, studying and learning more about the world of sales and at the same time reading books to change my mind. For me to grow both professionally and personally.

But not everything was easy, I have already commented on several posts about my life in this regard. I don't want to say that I'm good, far from it, but I know and believe that not just anyone can do what I did and follow my path. I tried and showed it to several friends and even today they work in the same place and being “hostage” to the salary. Not that they are wrong, but this life for me today I can't feel safe anymore. However, during all these years I have wanted several times to have this “insurance” of the salary that many have.
The journey is long, tiring, hard and requires you to work hard, but much more than before when you are just an employee.

Today, I am happy, I feel better qualified and a good part of it is accomplished. I have not yet achieved everything I desire, but I have experience to live like this.

If today I arrived here and continue to do so, it is because back in 2013 in the training I went to, I attend the lecture on Patience and Persistence. The patience that I have until today and the persistence that I have always maintained have brought me here and allow me to live the way I always wanted to. FREE.

This post is my entry for POB Word of the Week

Everyone's journey is different, or at least it should be. We all have different needs, beliefs and things that make us happy... yet a lot of us end up together in the hostage to the salary mentality. It is bred into us from an early age.

A change like you did is never easy. I did a similar thing in 2014. It required a lot of changes on my part and was extremely scary sometimes. For me with retirement income now my life is a little more secure. At least on a month to month basis. I am still one unforeseen financial disaster away from that all changing but I am a lot happier over all. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Very interesting to read about the 'switch that flipped' eight years ago and how you persisted to bring about the change that you desire. One without the other wouldn't have worked, both needed to be present.

I wonder if it will ever be possible to have achieved everything that we desire.

I also wonder.

After a while, age, I stopped thinking about it and just living in search of what I want. Just one step at a time. But without looking ahead with a super ambitious future. I'll go by parts.

It is good to read these types of stories and experiences, it is sad to see how even people continue to exchange their time for some money and to fulfill someone else's dreams, life is really short if we see it from that perspective and tomorrow is today so Making the most of your time should be an infallible priority and you should have a constant update to always go one step ahead or make the attempt to do so.

Yes, and everything is a matter of thought. A lot of them shaped and defined from an early age that they should have a job and exchange their time for someone else's time.

You just managed to throw into action the word "persistence" and could perfectly deal with the ups and downs, so you pretty much deserve talking about it everywhere you go.

The journey is often energy draining, at every point there's a set back trynna trigger a "quit the fuck off" emotions, but the ability to restrain from its negativity and keep moving is divine.

This was one good read of a success life.

Thanks!

Every bad moment and challenge that we face and go through makes us stronger for the next few

I have wanted several times to have this “insurance” of the salary that many have.

Insurance is a good way to put it. It's a safety net with a bunch of perks. The sacrifice is your time, mindset, and ultimately your dreams (this obviously differs from salary to salary, I don't mean to generalise on everyone who receives a salary, just a large majority).

I'm glad to hear that you've found your own freedom. It's inspiring to read. I'm on my way there also, slow and steady.

Yea

I don't judge

Only those who live hostage, receiving and paying their bills, without investing, saving or looking for something for their future.

Playing only the rat race.

Eu acho massa demais essa tua jornada de empreendedorismo (considero até uma inspiração pra mim mesmo), principalmente querendo fazer isso no Brasil.

Parabéns por não desistir e seguir em frente!

thanks for sharing your story. i think we all have that moment in our lives where things took a u-turn based on what we heard. for me, it would be listening to Jordan Peterson this year. He speaks strongly about going through the hard reality of life and only ten to we find something worthwhile.

I have always considered myself to be very patient and persistent, but perhaps not today as much as I have been in the past. Sometimes patience can be misunderstood with acceptance. In the case of Hive, it is a vision of the future, a vision of planning, being aware of what you are building, even if it is one brick at a time.

Sim

Paciência para fazer as coisas que demandam tempo. Aceitação é não fazer nada por algo que deveria ser feito hehe

Wow, you managed to break away from the chains of a salary! I'm really pleased to hear that and, despite the tribulations you've faced in the last 8 years, I'm sure you have a totally different way of thinking and living vs suckers like me who can't see past the salary! Hopefully though, the ventures in to crypto will be able to change that, it's quite a mindset difference and you need to be bold. Good for you and thanks for sharing your story!

But whoever has a salary and still looks for ways to invest and create their own business is right. Just like you have been doing here.

The bad thing is when the person only receives the salary and lives on his own and does not seek to increase his income

Yeah man, completely agree with you. Having multiple streams of income that build up over time and staying diversified is the way to do it and not rely on one source. I'm all for getting the money to work for me, not the other way around (although you have to start somewhere)!

Well done, this is no easy thing to do. I too have been salary free for quite a few years now. Last time was prior to my girls being born, now I make my way by being creative and I would't change it for the world. Having faith that the universe will provide is a great thing as well. Thanks for sharing your story @hranhuk xx

After a while we start to think differently.

I also wouldn't change what I have today, despite all the problems that I faced and still face.

Of course, there will always be a difference between an individual who seeks knowledge and experience and the one who wanted safety and insurance.

The first gets to pay now and play later, while the latter plays now, and pays later.

In other words, it took you quite a good number of years to get to this point, while your friends may have been basking in the joy their salary and paycheck gave them

However, right now, there is a big difference between you and them, and this is what the combination of patience and persistency gives you

You may not be perfect at the moment, but every training you underwent is worth and I wish you more grace to carry on

And I wish you luck in this contest

Perfect placement buddy!

That's exactly how I feel about living today.

Thanks!
