RE: How to Prevent Hostile Takeovers for a Naive Steem Community

You are viewing a single comment's thread:

I think people have taken care of getting the code, but the developers are a vital resource. I know Steemit have been selling their Steem to cover costs and witnesses are generally not profitable. It would take a bigger increase in the Steem price to make it viable to pay the people we really need, from what I understand.

I am seeing a lot of suspicion in the community about what this all means for us. We are pretty small as communities go, but there is a lot of value here and I don't want to see it fragment. I have mainly invested time, but those who have put in lots of money will be worried. I am wondering if Tron could/would want to remove some of the rogue elements. Some are worried that we will lose true decentralisation.

The AMA is starting in a few minutes, so I hope we get some clear answers.

Interesting times...

I hope the ama and after party in the PAL discord channel has cleared a lot of items up. we need to cover our asses with a mitigation in case of hostile takeover. but for now it is clear that Tron want a mutually beneficial partnership, with an independent steemit inc and steem blockchain! :) cautiously positive stuff.
