Rubber poured ground and a crunchy after taste.

The walkway is freshly paved and the grass freshly mowed. The smell is exotic and the day bright. Three friends, still in their school uniform climb the fence and run across the streets to the newly opened park. No guards, no cameras, just kids in a new park.

The poured rubber ground was a first. It was a miraculous technology. They jumped and "speared" on it. Expressed their growing body's abilities and plunged head first into the poured rubber from the top of a 15 feet slide. Nothing but smiles and adrenaline.

The crew got bigger and the territorial urges, too. The fun never stopped and it was almost a daily hang out spot. Ten friends, still in their school uniform climb the fence and run across the streets. Now they have learnt parkour, or what they think parkour is. Jumping from bench to bench, doing tricks while running from pole to pole.

High noon, not much of a barrier. Almost 40 degrees Celsius, that is just another day. The part has cloth tents for roofs. It did a good job protecting them from the sun. They washed off in the public toilets and brought along water from the taps to moisten the rubber poured floor. Now there is a puddle, too!
Eureka!

The park has free-hand gyms machines. Oh what a find for growing men. From playing football with a crushed can to doing handstands for minutes on end. Airchair, kneechair, turtle and elbow freeze.

Twenty friends, still in their school uniform climb the fences and run across the streets to the newly popular park. Twenty, but not friends to each other. One friend walks out with a chipped incisor, blood and sweat all over the face.

Did he hit his head on one of the gym machines? Or was it a baseball bat and bad aim?
Only the rubber poured grounds could attest. But they would never speak.
