Ly Son Island-Quang Ngai
Quang Ngai is a province in central Vietnam and is about 146km north of Da Nang city. Although not as developed as Da Nang, it is a province with a very long and beautiful coastline and many other attractions. Moreover, this place is the convergence of three great cultures of Vietnam: Sa Huynh, Champa, and Dai Viet.
When it comes to Quang Ngai, Ly Son island is first mentioned. Nestling in the northeast of Quang Ngai and 15 miles from the mainland. This is the only island district of the province, it consists of 3 islands, and about 20,000 people are living there.
The Ly Son tourist route was opened in 2007 and has significantly developed since 2014 when electricity was brought to the island, and high-speed ferries were opened up to make it more convenient for tourists to get here.
To get there, drive to Sa Ky port, buy the tickets, and board the ferry or speed boat. There are two different types of boats to choose from: normal ferries take an hour to arrive, but the speedboats take only 30 minutes. I recommend calling the port to check the availability of tickets before traveling and choose a speed boat to save time :)
The best time to visit the island is between February and September. The places you should visit are Dao Be, To Vo Gate, Dinh Liem Tu, Hon Mu Cu, Hang Pagoda. The seawater here is very clear and clean, so scuba diving and snorkeling are very popular ways the see the coral and tropical fish.
From March to August, every year is the dry season, with little rain and a lot of sunshine, so it will be relatively suitable for going to Ly Son.
Ly Son has many travel options for you. On the Big Island, you can travel by motorbike or hire people's tricycles to move if the number of members in the group is not too large. If the group is large, you can choose to rent a car for yourself. On Be Island, due to its relatively small area, you can walk or choose a tram operated by a few households on the island.
It's great to look back on those good memories 4 years ago, our very first trip together after graduation ( look "trẻ trâu"~ haha if you live long enough in Viet Nam, you will understand the words "young buffalo" means 🤣😂😆) !!! We had a fun and unforgettable time. We now look not much different ~ less crazy 🤩 and more matured 😍. If we come back here, we will take a better photograph. It's really a great island. I hope the island stays pristine and unpolluted by humans. See you again soon, Ly Son !!!

An amazingly beautiful place! I really like the boats!😍
Beautiful trip! Beautiful memories!
Anyway, you mentioned that this is the place of convergence for the three great Vietnamese cultures. Anytime, if possible, I want to hear about that side too, especially about Champa culture!🙏
Oh yeah sorry I haven't done any research about Champa for you. History is not really my field :((
I don't promise but I will try my best to look into it.
Do you have discord ? :)
Oh please don't let it bother you!🙏 I'm just curious to see the historical heritage of Vietnam's culture, especially Champa, more closely through your posts, of course if you like it!😁 And so sorry because for now, I don't have a discord yet. Thank you very much for the reply.😊
What a beautiful place! Despite many years travelling I never made it to Vietnam and by the looks of it I missed out. That water is crystal clear. I love the quieter places away from tourist traps. What a happy memory @trangbaby
