#32 Diary of Remenzer : Ray Always Strong - This is Our Story Fighting His Severe Aplastic Anaemia Part 7

Good day, Hive Community! I hope everything is going well for you. Please accept my apologies for mass tagging before I begin. As always, I'm tagging each of you because I wanted to thank you for liking and voting on my post here, which will give me hives that I will withdraw in the near future for Ray's needs.
THE DAY BEFORE IMMUNOSUPPRESSIVE THERAPY (IST)
It's 7:00 a.m. on June 28th., and I haven't sleep yet.
Ray undergo a blood transfusion that day.
His full blood readings before the transfusion :
Hemoglobin : 6.9 (previous was 10.9)
Platelet x 10^9/L : 29 (previous was 9, It's increased because it's been transfused once)
TWBC x 10^9/L : 0.8 (previous was 1.0)
CRP : 187.3 (previous was 176.4)
Ray watches YouTube videos as the nurse prepares the transfusion.
Ray is enjoying his meal. On this meal, he didn't eat much. He didn't even eat the banana.
Ray's favourite nurse was on duty at that night, and she advised me to get a full night's sleep and rest. I consider myself quite fortunate. I accept the offer and have a decent night's sleep.
DAY 1
This is cyclosprine liquid
Cyclosporine is less efficient than ATG when used alone. Cyclosporine improves blood counts in almost 7 out of 10 cases of acquired aplastic anaemia when combined with ATG.
Some common side effects include:
Tremors or shaking
Nausea
Diarrhea
High blood pressure
Kidney problems
Loss of magnesium or potassium
Liver inflammation
Increased hair growth
Gum swelling and pain
These issues can usually be resolved by taking blood pressure medication and restoring magnesium or potassium that has been depleted. Ray has no trouble with potassium liquids and tablets, but he throws up every time he takes magnesium.
The first two hours following the start of the ATG.
ATG improves blood counts in aplastic anaemia patients roughly half of the time when given alone. ATG improves blood counts in roughly 7 out of 10 patients when combined with cyclosporine. More than 7 out of 10 persons see increased blood counts when a platelet growth factor called eltrombopag (Promacta®) is also provided.
According to the doctor, Anti-Thymocyte Globulin, ATG usually eliminates the need for blood transfusions within three months if it works. It may take at least 9 months to get full success. Some individuals may respond at first, but then relapse and require more treatment.
Some common side effects of ATG:
Chills
Fever
Hives
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Dizziness
Headache
These side effects usually go away after treatment.
So far, everything has gone well.
DAY 2
It was a beautiful day outside, yet it felt as cold as a freezer inside.
Ray has completely lost his appetite for food and refuses to take any medication. He refuses to take all of the medications, including voriconazole, potassium, magnesium, nystatin, and others.
DAY 3
In his left arm, the doctor needs to place one arterial line. That makes him feel uneasy, and it makes him emotionally unstable. The line will allow potassium and magnesium to be injected into his system.
I know he goes through a lot, but I've never seen him grow up to be this strong. He has grown in strength. I believe he will be cured because his spirit and will are stronger than mine.

Do update on his condition after he gets back home... Your a great father.. it is definitely not easy to be in this situation and the pain you feel seeing your son in pain. Never give up. Good that you post your life story.
