Is media distracting us deliberately?

These days in India we are facing a big problem. Media is showing and debating on a particular issue for some days and other news are not being given any importance at all. After a few days other issue comes forward and the older one is wiped out of the attention of media. Is this being done deliberately by the media in order to distract people from real issues?
