We're out in the field to visit our deaf students. Usually, most of them are in rural areas. What I liked in such places is the silence, fresh air, and the view.

However, there are times when going to rural areas makes me feel dry. Summer time or after harvest, the field will naturally looks dry unlike when there's drizzle or rain. There'll be surely green sceneries.

When we're out in the field, I took some pictures while walking. As you can see, rice that was newly harvested are placed on the road to dry. If you ask me if it's legal, it's not. There's a law regarding that, and it even caused accidents. In village roads like this, it's probably fine. Not so many vehicles pass by. In highways, it's still a common practice. It's not nice to see the rice being dried up at highways.

Maybe find a safer place to dry them. In their own yard, etc. Hehe

How long does it takes for the rice to dry? I know coffee beans are dried in a similar way. They just let them break out in the sunshine I think for a day...😀

I'm not sure but it depends on how long they let it dry in a day. Then it will be brought to the rice mill.

That's very interesting, so I guess the rice is still in the hull and needs to be milled.... I did not know that..😀

I think that's true with most farmers they get very little compared to it the people that are selling it in stores or at the end of the supply chain, and they work so hard!!

I heard they sell a sack of unmilled rice 20 pesos. The merchants sell them at 1000 pesos. In dollars, comparing 40 cents to 20 dollars.
