Crazy Winter Life Update

Well, I haven't been outside lately with the Canon camera. Really, I haven't had time. Life has been keeping me very busy. We have had a record breaking December with our snowfall here in Truckee, California. It's been so much work, and I'm incredibly tired. Our power has been out for about 6 days over the past two weeks. It's off, then on, then off, then on (currently on!). Same with our internet and 4G.

I try not to complain, I do love this weather, even though I also hate it, lol. When the power is out, we have a wood burning stove and two generators so really, we have been just fine. And I have a snowblower, so I don't have to shovel all that snow, just some of it. When I step back and look at the big picture, we are doing just fine.

Here's a few phone photos of my home and my driveway. I'm sure I'll be talking about this winter's "fun" for years to come.

It's going to be a few days before things get back to normal in Truckee. Right in time for another big storm! I'm not putting the big generator away this time. It's supposed to get crazy again...

Well, I guess if it snows a little bit more then the cops can't pull you over for running that stop sign, because What stop sign?

Yup! It might by completely buried today, I'll have to go check soon... Thanks for the !BEER ! The local gas stations are out of gas and the grocery stores are mostly empty too. Good thing that I have a 12 pack ready for Friday. Cheers!

Thanks! We're low on fruits and veggies but plenty of meats in the deep freeze. And if it comes down to it, we are in the land of the Donner Party...

Mother Nature is very generous with snow. Not greedy! Makes your life not boring, so that you don't sit at home watching TV, but have fun on the street - cleaning the snow! 😂😂😂

Yeah, there wasn't much TV at all, especially with the power outages. Lots of work. But I got out for some fun this morning!

Oh my god!! That's insane levels of snow right there!! It looks so cool, but with the power cuts, internet outages etc, it's a serious pain in the ass for ye I'd say. Roll on the melt.. Cracking pics though 👌

I hear you man, it's not easy to find time for everything, especially with young kids and I have three running about the place :)

I do think though that we need to try to prioritise some time for doing the things that bring us joy, as when we are happy, we glow and therefore those who surround us feel that glow too. It can be quite easy to forget ourselves sometimes and be altruistic. Altruism is great, but one needs to remember themselves as well.

Totally agree. My son is 21 but when he was younger I made sure to find time to have fun with friends snowboarding, mountain biking, fishing, and more. Plenty of adventures with my son too but it's good to step back and reset without the family every once in a while. Have a happy new year!
